Yin Yoga invites us to explore the depths of stillness and introspection, allowing us to connect with the profound wisdom within ourselves.🌀
Yin Yoga reminds us to bring balance in our life and patience to our mind. It invites us to find our edge in each posture. 🧘
The edge is where fear meets courage, challenge meets curiosity, intensity meets softness, desire meets determination. ☀️

*Teacher Spotlight: Katarina | Breath, Balance & Hatha Yoga 🌬️*
Move with care. Breathe with purpose. Find your center.

Originally from Slovakia and now deeply rooted in Luxembourg, Katarina brings a rich and thoughtful journey to her Hatha Yoga classes. As a translator and movement enthusiast — with a love for hiking, dancing, and over a decade of kung fu — she understands the need to find balance in a busy, screen-filled world.

Her yoga journey began in 2011 for health reasons, then evolved into a lifelong practice blending Ashtanga, Sivananda, somatic yoga, the Feldenkrais method, and the transformative power of breath. With a deep passion for functional breathing and self-awareness, Katarina offers classes that are both grounding and deeply personal.

Join for an evening of song and joy in community.

Kirtan is a heart-opening practice of singing mantras together, rooted in Bhakti Yoga. Through call-and-response chanting, it invites us to quiet the mind, ground in the present moment, and move beyond the ego.

Kirtan creates a powerful sense of connection—within ourselves, with each other, and with something greater—offering a joyful path to inner stillness and collective unity.

Hey,

Em here, from UrbanLeaf massage and yoga studio

Over the summer there will be some yoga classes but most of the teachers will start after the summer break.

Right now the studio is collaborating with

Who is adding a lot of life in the studio with their Pilates and barre classes. They look very upbeat and motivating!

On the massage side, the garden massage space is nearly finished and should be open after the summer break.

I will continue giving treatments till the 6th of August after which I will be taking a time to be with family till the 20th 😌

And in September I have decided to take another course in massage.

By coming back to the same thing again and again this is how I start to notice the richness of the practice.

Recently I’ve being shown how beneficial abdominal massage is for anxiety, heavy moods, burnout. By working with people passing through these stages and seeing the changes in them.

I take a lot of pleasure in seeing people release and free themselves. One person shared: it’s like a part of me that was sleeping has come back to life 🌱

Everyone’s words brings a smile to my face 😁

And the studio is full of activity again 🌻

With more projects coming soon! 🌈

Hope we can create something for you too

With love,
Em

Hello from Bosnia :)

Em here, UrbanLeaf’s massage therapist and yoga studio organiser

Each country has a unique feeling, a bit like people’s personality

I didn’t know what to expect coming here but one this that surprised me a lot is the the people

They are very open and easy to talk to. In the supermarket they greet each other and wave goodbye to their friends in the line

In cafes you see folk coming to have a morning coffee, meeting with friends and chatting before the day starts

It seems the treasures of this country is the connection between people.

It’s not uncommon to see an older person walking home with an ice cream and a smile on their face 🤭

I feel like people enjoy simple things here

~~

Today I wanted to share that there will be two workshops at the studio this month on the 28th and 29th

The first is a Breathwork event led but .to.breath

Her journey has taken her to unlock the power of breathing and how it can wake up our spirit inside ~

This will be her first event at . A change of air from what we have to offer and it is by donation so come see what it’s about if your are curious 🎐

The other event is hatha yoga with follow by a sound bath with

Moving your body in a mindful way quiets the mind so you can fully embark on the sound journey 🪽

There is more about these in the last two posts on this page ~

Thank you for reading these posts as always, and have a relaxing weekend ahead,

With love,
Em

Hello Everyone,

Happy to announce that the I will be holding the first Chi Nei Tsang Massage course at the end of the month.

This massage is one that I am very passionate about.

Not only because it has many benefits to those that receive it such as:

Better digestion, reduced bloating and stomach discomfort, feeling light in the abdomen area, and promoting the release of toxins stored in the organs.

It tones the immune system (70% of which is in the gut)

Reduces stress and promotes wellbeing through vagus nerve toning

Aids with restoring normal secretion of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, GABA, etc . Some of which are synthesised by your microbiome which is in turn influenced by your state of mind and the your internal environment.

How the body is interconnected is quite fascinating 😍

Along with emotional release it also allows receivers to enter deep states of meditation and experience their inner world ~

People tend to walk out the door a different person. For me seeing this change is very gratifying.

Starting on the last weekend of June I will be teaching the basics of this massage over two weekends.

The dates for the first course are:

Sat 28th & Sun 29th of June, and Fri 4th to Sun 6th of July.

The second course is already set for:

Sat 19th & Sun 20th of July, and Fri 25th to Sun 27th of July

The spaces are limited to 4 people per group and if you would like to suggest other dates we can try to organise a course for your availability.

Looking forward to teaching this and sharing the knowledge.

Please email or DM for more information 🌈

With love,
Em

New Yoga classes starting this week ~

Bookings are via emails or DM in Instagram until the booking system is live.

We are talking with a startup and they updating their software so we can use their platform. Hoping to go live very soon. Will keep you posted.

Starting this week on Tuesday at 18:30 - 19:45

Katarina who used to teach at the studio before I left to Japan will be offering:

“Gentle Yoga (based on Hatha Yoga and Somatic exercices)

Slower paced, different kinds of motion with focus on the back, neck and shoulders
Starting point & the base – awareness of the breath and its importance to facilitate the smooth movement, acceding and activating deeper and/or stiff, shortened muscles and their levels for the sake of a functional movement.
Short sequences that take into account needs related to the above-mentioned body parts, offering options and variations adapted to the students (based on the regular participation of the same people).
No previous knowledge is required. Specific health issues have to be discussed in advance.

Katarina Znamenackova
I started to practice yoga in 2010, first for health reasons. Later included the gentle hatha and Ashtanga into my life to counterbalance running and swimming, besides the long hours sitting at the desktop.
After two yoga teachers trainings (2015 and 2016) focused on Hatha flow, I continued with studying the functional movement as to make the yoga accessible also to people with different conditions.
Another point of interest have become the Hormone Yoga therapy - a sequence developed for women by a Brazilian Yoga teacher, Dinah Rodrigues.
And, equally important, a few years ago, I became aware of the crucial importance of the breathing: not only in Yoga (known as Pranayama), but also it more functional form in the daily life. This part of my knowledge is something I am open to share.“

Hello Everyone,

The studio will have another massage therapist working here.

Today I was talking with her: .immersed

Please reach out to her on her profile if you would like to know more about what she does.

And one thing we touched on when talking was ‘what is massage?’

I think a lot of people see massage in different ways.

For some it’s a way to relax muscles, recover after a workout, release stress, ease pains in the body or a chance to enjoy being with yourself in your own body.

As a therapist, massage for me is holding space, making available all my attention, thoughts, knowledge and time for a person. It’s a process of giving my love, care and attention to another. Seeing what is going on and bringing awareness to places I see are stuck and could move.

I see that pain is often linked to emotions and thoughts we have. And so I keep the space open for people to talk and share what’s alive in them now so as to release in more ways than through muscle relaxation.

Recently I’ve found that more people have become able to share during sessions: this feels good, or this move causes uncomfortable sensations. And I see that as a gift that there is enough trust that they can share their inner world.

I hope that through massages you can become more in touch with yourself, light in body and mind and confident in yourself.

What is massage to you?

With love,
Em

Hello Everyone ~

It’s Em your massage therapist 🌸

Recently I’m been taking a course on postpartum recovery massage.

As I have noticed people around me have started a family and had kids and wanted to support this process ~

This course gave me new tools to aid the recover after birth, with methods to:

💠 Return the hip bones to their proper alignment
💠Aid the recovery of diastasis recti
💠Release tension around the bladder and uterus
💠Settle the nervous system via the psoas
💠Soffen scar tissue, especially after a c section

The knowledge builds on the abdominal massages and gave new tools for treatments.

Sleep quality can also be improved as a recipient noted today in their review:

“This was my first time receiving an abdominal massage, and I must admit, it was a bit surprising at first. We’re so used to having our back, shoulders, or legs massaged, but rarely the belly, which is a much more vulnerable and unfamiliar area. It took me a little while to fully relax, but once I did, I could truly feel the benefits. One noticeable effect was the improvement in my sleep quality in the days that followed. Definitely worth trying, an unusual experience, but one with real potential for deep relaxation and well-being.”

🥰

If you have questions or want to know more please reach out via the studio mail.

Hello there 🍒

Hope you’re enjoying the sunny day! ☀️✨

May is just around the corner, and with it, the cold mornings are finally starting to ease away.

Having a glass of water before starting the day can really help your body get going. As the days get hotter, it’s also a great way to keep dehydration headaches at bay. 🤓

It’s a small act of self-love that I’ve started practicing—and I’ve found it really enjoyable.

There are many ways I grow joy, such as walking in the garden, basking in the sun, and taking an interest is life around me—be it insects, animals, plants, or people. I’ve also realised that physical activity like going for a run, doing some yoga, singing, or dancing resets my mind.

But mostly, I’m learning to step out of repetitive thinking patterns that aren’t helpful and to take pleasure in the small, everyday things.

Everyone’s way of creating joy will be a little different, what’s yours?

For those of you who use massage as a way to realign yourselves:
I’m now taking bookings for May 💆😌

You can reserve a time via email:
hello@urbanleafyoga.com

And if you’d like to receive updates via my WhatsApp channel, there’s a link in the bio.

I’d love to expand my network—if you’d like to help, please share this with a friend! 🥰

For everyone with a birthday in May, let me know and I’ll offer you a small discount. 💝

Looking forward to seeing you this May,

With love,
Em

P.S. I’m looking for 1 model per week to support the creation of my abdominal massage course. If you’re interested, I ask for a €20 participation fee and your feedback on the massage, so I can refine the techniques included in the course. 🙏

Beyond Right and Wrong

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
— Rumi

This quote moves something deep in me.

I see it reflected in the words of Marshall Rosenberg:

“Every criticism, judgment, diagnosis, and expression of anger is the tragic expression of an unmet need.”

When we communicate in terms of right and wrong, we risk disconnecting from what is alive in us. Something gets lost in that moment—our presence, our truth, our ability to relate from the heart.

Judgments begin to feel more real than the actual experience unfolding around us. They can harden into beliefs that limit us, creating a sense of helplessness. After all, when something just is, what is there to do? It just is.

But when we reconnect with our needs—those tender, vital currents within us—something shifts. There’s always a way forward. Always a choice. Always a path that aligns with what truly matters.

I want to remember:
I choose my way here, and I will choose my way from here.

My map is my heart’s needs.
My compass is my mind—gently exploring what those needs mean to me and how they relate to the world around me.

Follow your heart.
And may your path be beautiful.
