❌ Pain is not always a sign that something is seriously wrong. In many cases, pain reflects increased sensitivity, overload or temporary irritation rather than structural damage.

The body can react to stress, fatigue or changes in activity levels.

However, if pain persists, worsens or limits your daily activities, it is important to have it assessed.

👉Understanding pain is an important step in rehab.

– Reducing the Risk of Ankle Sprains
Ankle sprains are among the most common sports injuries,
involving quick changes of direction, jumping or uneven surfaces. With targeted preparation, the risk can often be reduced.

Here are three importannt elements to support ankle stability:

1️⃣ Improve balance and control
Exercises such as single-leg stands or balance board training enhance proprioception — your body’s ability to sense joint position and react quickly to instability.

2️⃣ Strengthen the surrounding muscles:
Targeted strengthening of the ankle and lower leg improves joint support. Exercises like controlled heel raises or resistance band work help increase stability under load.

3️⃣ Choose appropriate footwear
Shoes that are well-fitted and adapted to your sport provide important support. If you have a history of ankle injuries, structured warm-up and preventive exercises are particularly important.

💡 Consistent preparation plays a key role in maintaining joint stability and reducing injury risk.

– Supporting Recovery as a Football Athlete ⚽

Performance on the field isn’t built only during training, but also on how well the body recovers.
A structured recovery routine helps reduce injury risk and keep you performing throughout the season.

Here are 3 key recovery essentials 👇

1️⃣ Prioritise quality sleep
Aim for 7–9 hours per night.
Sleep supports muscle repair, hormonal balance and mental focus — all crucial for performance.

2️⃣ Include active recovery
Light activities like mobility work, swimming, or low-intensity cycling help improve circulation and reduce stiffness without adding extra load.

3️⃣ Focus on nutrition & hydration
Balanced post-training meals help muscle recovery and restore energy levels.

Proper hydration is essential for optimal performance and injury prevention.

👉 Recovery is not time off training — it is part of training.

Is it normal to feel sore after physiotherapy? 👀

Yes — mild soreness or fatigue after a session can be normal. Your body is adapting to a mobilization or a new exercise, which can sometimes cause temporary discomfort.

👉 Mild soreness or tiredness usually settles within 24 to 48 hours.

⚠️ If pain feels unusual, intense or lasts longer than expected, please let your physiotherapist know — we’re here to support you.

– How to prevent common knee problems 🦵

Your knees work hard every day — walking, climbing stairs running, or playing sports. The good news is that many problems can be prevented with the right habits.

Here are three key pillars for healthy knees:

1️⃣ Build strength around the knee:
Strong quadriceps, hamstrings and hip muscles provide better joint stability and reduce unnecessary stress

2️⃣ Keep your joints mobile:
Regular stretching and mobility exercises help maintain range of motion, prevent stiffness and support smoother movement

3️⃣ Don’t ignore pain:
If knee discomfort appears or persists, early physiotherapy assessment can help identify the cause and guide you safely toward recovery.

Your knees carry you through life — take care of them! 💚

– Stay Strong & Safe on the Slopes 🎿❄️

Skiing is fun — but it’s also tough on your muscles and joints! Before you hit the slopes, a little preparation can go a long way in preventing injuries and helping you ski with confidence.

Here are our top tips from your Kine MOES team:

🔥 Warm up before you ski
Get your body ready with dynamic movements like leg swings, gentle squats and torso rotations.

💪 Strengthen your legs & core
Strong quads, glutes and core muscles help stabilize your knees, hips, and back on uneven terrain.

🧘‍♂️ Stay mobile
Good flexibility in your hips, ankles and hamstrings improves control and reduces muscle tension.

⛷️ Ski smart, listen to your body, and take breaks when needed!

If you’ve had a recent injury or want to ski pain-free, we’re here to help you prepare — or recover 💚
