Our Story
Born and raised in Rishikesh, a Himalayan town notoriously famous with yoga addicts, teachers and practitioners and widely regarded as the birthplace of yoga, Pragya was initiated into the practice at the age of 6 under the guidance of her guru Bhakti Yog ji Maharaj. Since then she has been experimenting with various lineages of yoga constantly evolving herself and her practice. She is a RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance, certified in Pranayama, Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga. Staying true to her curious nature, she is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Yoga to deepen her understanding of the practice. Pragya relies strongly on her own practice and intuition to guide her teaching. Her family, friends and fellow practitioners are critical to providing her insights and serve as a source of daily inspiration.
Pragya loves the practice of yoga for its ability to strengthen the mind and body but even more for its ability to cleanse it. She interprets the philosophy of yoga and breaks it down to actions that can be incorporated into one’s practice and life. Her alignment-based hatha-vinyasa style incorporates hands-on adjustments and structural awareness. Pragya’s classes are a lively mix of balance and bends aimed at improving strength and flexibility through the practice of asanas (postures); boosting energy and increase awareness through the practice of pranayama (breathing) and chanting.
Pragya’s mantra - Smile and Let go.
