Dr. Tom Patt is a Dutch orthopaedic surgeon at Bergman Clinics, Capelle aan den IJssel, specialising in arthroscopic knee surgery. Since 2010, he has dedicated his career to preventing knee injuries in children and adolescents, earning recognition across Europe for his clinical expertise and collaborative research.

He is the current President of ESMA/ESSKA and co-leads the Guardians of the ACL, a prevention workgroup within the ACL Study Group. Together with Dr. Henrique Jones, he co-developed ESMA/ESSKA’s widely adopted “Prevention for All” programme, aimed at promoting safer sports practices.

Dr. Patt has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and consensus statements, focusing on ACL injury prevention, treatment strategies, and rehabilitation. His work has significantly advanced paediatric sports medicine and orthopaedic care.

Prof. Seil, a Luxembourg-native knee surgeon, serves at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg. His expertise covers sports medicine, knee injuries, and primary and revision knee arthroplasty. He is Co-Director of the Luxembourg Olympic Medical Center and of the IOC-accredited Research Centre ReFORM.

He has authored over 300 publications, co-edited books on knee surgery and sports medicine, and helped establish best practices in ACL reconstruction and meniscal surgery. A co-founder of ESSKA’s Paediatric ACL registry and founding member of its Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics, he also contributes to multiple editorial boards.

Prof. Seil is Past President of ESSKA and GOTS, President of LIROMS, and a member of the IOC Health, Medicine and Science Commission. He is a recognised international leader and award-winning speaker in orthopaedics and sports medicine.

Prof. Dr. Michael T. Hirschmann is Head of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at Kantonsspital Baselland and Full Professor at the University of Basel, where he also co-leads the Centre of Musculoskeletal Diseases and directs a knee research unit.

Author of over 450 peer-reviewed papers and several textbooks, his research spans cartilage, meniscus and ligament injuries, osteoarthritis, knee arthroplasty, and new technologies such as robotics and AI. He pioneered the knee phenotype concept, advancing personalised total knee arthroplasty.

A recognised authority in 3D imaging and evidence-based diagnostics, Prof. Hirschmann is also Editor-in-Chief of KSSTA and a frequent international lecturer. His research has been honoured with prestigious awards, including the Swiss Quality Award, ESSKA Research Award, and AAOS Best Scientific Exhibit Award.

Mr Tony Andrade is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon with a special focus on hip preservation and arthroscopic hip surgery. He founded the Hip Preservation Service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2002, which developed into a leading tertiary referral centre.

A pioneer in surgical techniques, he established an international visiting surgeon programme and launched a hip arthroscopy fellowship in 2016. Since 2004, he has also directed a lower limb arthroplasty fellowship and co-founded the Combined Orthopaedic and Medical Microbiology Service (COMMS) to advance infection treatment.

Mr Andrade has published extensively, co-authored a landmark BMJ study on hip surgery, and received awards from EFFORT and ESSKA. As Past President of ISHA – The Hip Preservation Society, he continues to advance innovation and education worldwide.
