Tā kā strādāju arī ar pusaudžiem, šodien (16.04.2026.) pieslēdzos konferencei "EMDR pielietojums dažādos klīniskos kontekstos" par darbu ar bērniem un pusaudžiem.

Dažas no tēmām:
- disociācija→saikne EMDR terapijā
- pielāgojumi darbā ar bērniem un pusaudžiem (arī autisma, uzmanības un aktivitātes traucējumu un īpašu komunikācijas vajadzību gadījumos)
- darbs ar sarežģītiem klīniskiem gadījumiem (robežstāvokļa personības traucējumi, tiesu sistēma psihiskās veselības jomā, bēgļu ģimenes)
- EMDR terapija ģimenes kontekstā un piesaistes traumai veltītas pieejas

Since I also work with adolescents, I'm joining the conference "EMDR Applications in Various Clinical Contexts" today (April 16, 2026), which focuses on working with children and adolescents.

Some of the topics include:
- dissociation→connection in EMDR therapy
- adaptations for working with children and adolescents (including cases of autism, ADHD, and special communication needs)
- working with complex clinical cases (borderline personality disorder, forensic care, refugee families)
- EMDR therapy in a family context and approaches focused on attachment trauma

I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from inspiring experts, including Renée Beer, Carlijn de Roos, Sarah Schubert, Kirsten Hauber, Arianne Struik, Esty Bar Sade, Esther Leuning, Ariane Tjeenk-Kalff, Liesbeth Mevissen, Laurian Hafkemeijer, Mirjam Heinemans, Trudy Mooren, Michel Silvestre, Debra Wesselmann, etc.

I will be catching up on some of the sessions via recordings later.

Šodien, 2026. gada 11. aprīlī, man bija iespēja piedalīties seminārā “EMDR un disociācija no transdiagnostiskas perspektīvas”, ko vadīja patiesi iedvesmojošā Dolores Mosquera un organizēja EMDR Globālā alianse: Starptautiskā EMDR terapijas biedrība.
Jo vairāk es mācos, jo vairāk apzinos, cik daudz vēl ir, ko saprast, tomēr ar laiku informācija integrējas un iegūst jēgu. Šobrīd mans fokuss ir uz iekšējo pārmaiņu pamanīšanu sevī, kas rodas līdz ar jaunu izpratni, kā arī uz uzticēšanos procesam un, protams, šo vērtīgo zināšanu pielietošanu praksē.
Jūtos patiesi pateicīga. ❤️

Today, April 11, 2026, I had the opportunity to participate in the seminar “EMDR and Dissociation from a Transdiagnostic Perspective”, presented by the truly inspiring Dolores Mosquera and organized by EMDR Global Alliance: The International Society for EMDR Therapy.
The more I learn, the more I realize how much there is still to understand. Yet, with time, things begin to come together and make sense. For now, my focus is on noticing the inner changes within myself that come with new understanding, trusting the process, and, of course, putting this valuable knowledge into practice.
I'm feeling really grateful. ❤️

6.-7.03.2026. piedalījos EMDR Latvija orgnizētās apmācībās "EMDR terapija ēšanas traucējumu (ĒT) gadījumos", ko vadīja lieliskā Natalia Seijo. Prieks, ka mums izdodas piesaistīt tik superīgus lektorus! ✨

Dažas atziņas:
- ĒT nedrīkst uzskatīt tikai paar uzvedības traucējumiem, kur galvenā uzmanība tiek pievērsta ēdienam
- cilvēku ar ĒT vainošana, apvainošana, tiesāšana vai draudēšana viņiem ir nepieņemama, arī no ārstu puses
- konceptualizējot ĒT, jāspēj labi orientēties tādos jēdzienos kā , un
- trešdaļa bērnu, kas cietuši no seksuālas vardarbības, pusaudzībā vai pieaugušā vecumā cieš no ĒT
- starppaaudžu traumām ir nozīme

On March 6-7, 2026, I attended the "EMDR Therapy for Eating Disorders (ED)" training organized by EMDR Latvia and led by the brilliant Natalia Seijo. It is a privilege to have such exceptional experts sharing their knowledge with us! ✨

Some takeaways:
- eating disorders should not be viewed merely as behavioral issues centered around food
- blaming, insulting, judging, or threatening individuals with EDs is unacceptable, including from medical professionals
- the conceptualization of EDs requires a deep understanding of concepts such as , , and
- one-third of childhood sexual abuse survivors suffer from eating disorders in adolescence or adulthood
- intergenerational trauma can play a significant role

Šodien piedalos Envision Workshops organizētā seminārā "Ar traumu saistīta disociācija: augšupējās (bottom-up) un lejupējās (top-down) regulācijas stratēģiju integrēšana EMDR terapijas praksē", ko vada fantastiskā Kathy Steele! Pirmo trīs semināra stundu laikā esmu uzzinājusi vairāk par mītiem apvīto terminu "disociācija" nekā dzīvē līdz šim, lai gan mani šī tēma ilgstoši patiesi interesē. Rekomendēju jau tagad! ⭐️

Starp citu, šogad piedalos arī starptaustiskā supervīziju grupā, ko vada Dolores Mosquera, un reizi ceturksnī viņai pievienojas arī Kathy Steele, kas fokusēta uz kompleksiem pēctraumas stresa traucējumiem un disociāciju, - brīnišķīga iespēja saņemt atbalstu, lai noorientētos sarežģītās situācijās, turklāt nav jāprot EMDR, lai piedalītos.

Today I am participating in the seminar "Trauma-Related Dissociation: Integrating Bottom-Up and Top-Down Regulation Strategies in EMDR Therapy Practice," organized by Envision Workshops and led by the fantastic Kathy Steele! In just the first three hours, I’ve learned more about the often-misunderstood term "dissociation" than ever before, despite my long-standing interest in the subject. I highly recommend it already! ⭐️

By the way, this year I am also taking part in an international supervision group led by Dolores Mosquera. Once a quarter, Kathy Steele joins her. Sessions focused on Complex PTSD and dissociation. It’s a wonderful opportunity to receive guidance for navigating complex cases even if you're not trained in EMDR to participate.

Yesterday, on March 11, 2026, I visited the Faculty of Education Science and Psychology at the University of Latvia, where I gave a presentation at the conference “What Is Happening in Latvia?”, organized by the Latvian Association of Clinical Psychologists. My topic was “ Therapy from a Psychological Perspective”.

Thank you for the opportunity and for the engaged audience. I had the chance to talk with both familiar faces and new people about what inspires me about EMDR. It was really wonderful that so many of you came up to start a conversation! 🌟
