📢 January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

📍 Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide, including in Latvia. The main risk factor is the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is transmitted through sexual contact.

❗ Important to know: In its early stages, cervical cancer often develops without noticeable symptoms, which is why timely screening and diagnosis are essential.

How can you protect yourself?
• Get vaccinated against HPV
• Visit your gynaecologist regularly
• Have regular Pap smears and additional examinations (colposcopy, biopsy)
• Maintain a healthy lifestyle

❗ Colposcopy is a key diagnostic procedure that allows for a detailed examination of the cervix, helping to detect abnormal changes early and prevent the progression of serious disease.

We are excited to announce that on February 26, 2026, iVF Riga Holding, in cooperation with researchers from Riga Stradiņš University and The Latvian Association of Human Genetics, will host the international conference “Reproductive Genetics: Opportunities for Diagnosis and Treatment.”

📍 Venue: Riga Islande Hotel, Ķīpsalas iela 2, Riga, Latvia

This event will bring together leading experts from Latvia and abroad to discuss the latest breakthroughs in reproductive genetics, including:
🔸Advances in genetic disease screening for family planning
🔸Genetic causes of female and male infertility
🔸Embryonic-level factors in infertility
🔸Evidence-based insights on PGT-A and PGT-M
🔸State support and accessibility of reproductive genetic testing across countries
