BATTLE OF STALINGRAD

The Battle of Stalingrad (July 17, 1942 - February 2, 1943) was one of the largest and turning points of the Great Patriotic War, which ended with a complete victory of the Red Army and the encirclement of the German 6th Army. This battle led to a fundamental turning point in the war and snatched the strategic initiative from N**i Germany.

Some key objects of Stalingrad are shown: the famous fountain «Barmaley», the building of the Department Store, the building of the Tsaritsyn Defense Museum. There is a monument to Stalin in front of the museum building.

The plot is based on the memories of the front-line soldier Ludnikov: on October 29, 1942, after another failed assault of the Barricades, the enemy chased women and children in front of him, hiding behind their backs. But the Soviet soldiers continued to hold on no matter what.

From the German side, we see a 75-mm infantry gun, a 105-mm howitzer, a medium Pz-IV tank. On the Soviet side, the KV-1 tank, 45-mm anti-tank gun.

The second diorama is devoted to the blockade of Leningrad, the period of German occupation and isolation of the city, which lasted from September 8, 1941 to January 27, 1944, when the city was subjected to massive shelling and bombing. Despite the cruel conditions, hunger and disease, the Leningraders showed courage, and the blockade was completely lifted on January 27, 1944 after 872 days of siege.

A collective image of Leningrad is shown using real buildings located on the embankment of the Griboyedov Canal: the Ratkov-Rozhnov apartment building and the Catherine Public Assembly building, as well as the Bank Bridge.

After another German shelling, one of the buildings is on fire. The fire is extinguished by the crew that arrived on the PMZ-2 fire engine, created on the basis of the ZIS-5 truck. Water is supplied directly from the canal. There is a ZIS-8 ambulance nearby. On the wall of the building, the poster of the concert - the Leningrad 7th Symphony of Shostakovich - was performed in Leningrad on August 9, 1942.

Next, we see a column of the KV-1 tank - this is part of Kolobanov’s half-company.

On the ice, people take water from the hole, a detachment of militiamen moves along the Bankovsky Bridge. These detachments participated in the construction of defensive structures, extinguishing fires, protecting the city from bombing and maintaining order, and in some cases took part in hostilities. The Leningrad militia became an important part of the resistance, ensuring the defense of the city and maintaining the morale of its inhabitants.

On the opposite bank we see Gaz-AA trucks that arrived in Leningrad on the Road of Life. We also see two fortified positions with anti-aircraft guns: a 37-mm anti-aircraft gun 61-K and an 85-mm anti-aircraft gun 52-K. The positions are reinforced with sandbags.

On the second bridge, the body of a local resident: during the blockade, people died right on the streets from hunger.

We manage to work on dioramas from time to time. This thing, as everyone has probably already guessed, we love it) It’s just a pity that, as usual, there is not enough time for everything planned. This time they made as many as six - with the key battles of the Great Patriotic War. Scale 1/72, size 600 x 600 mm. The battle for Moscow took place from the fall of 1941 to the spring of 1942, and was the first major defeat of Germany in World War II. As a result of the counteroffensive of the Soviet troops, the German units were thrown back from the capital, which marked the beginning of a fundamental break during the war and destroyed the plans of the «lightning war».

The defensive stage of the battle for Moscow from September 30 to December 5, 1941 is shown.

Above the diorama «in the air», Talalikhin’s feat is shown: Victor Talalihin, who was driving the I-16 fighter, sat on the tail of the enemy plane «Heinkel He-111».

On the ground we see German medium tanks Panzer III of early modifications with a shortened barrel, light tank PzII, armored personnel carriers SdKfz 250. From the Soviet side - a medium three-tower tank T-28.

Anti-tank guns, machine guns (Maxim, Degtyarev), guns (45 mm and 76 mm) are also used in defense. The regimental 76-mm gun continues to fight in a battered state. Some Soviet fighters are on skis, in camouflage gowns. This is what the feat of the 28 Panfilovites looked like.

The lines of defense are shown: anti-tank hedgehogs, a line of trenches with dugouts.

Макет устройства дорожного полотна. Самое сложное было - показать в реальном виде разрез слоев автодороги (а их не один, как вы могли подумать) Нам даже прислали реальные куски асфальта, но они оказались такими тяжелыми, что использовать их не представлялось возможным. Призвали на помощь нашего главного хадржника-бутафора Дмитрия, который из ничего сотворил разрез дороги. Ну а чтобы сам макет выглядел не совсем грустно, добавили автомобили в 43-м масштабе, в которых сделали светящиеся фары. И не забыли про водителей)

Часто для офисов продаж мы делаем такие «долгоиграющие» макеты. Смысл в том, что на макете показывается только часть будущего большого жилого комплекса, которая непосредственно поступает в продажу. Остальная территория изображается в условной концептуальной подаче. Иногда, детализированной оказывается только небольшая часть, как, например, на этом макете, который уехал в Магнитогорск. В будущем, по ходу строительства, мы будет менять кварталы макета на детализированные.

Our bread and butter is, of course, models for sales offices. For example, this one is a model of the new residential complex Voice of the Kashirins in Chelyabinsk, made on a scale of 1/300. Street lighting is implemented with the help of fiber optics. It is very nice that the customer, without waiting for the completion of work on the first project, ordered the second one, already for another object 🥳

The fourth model that we brought to SPIEF 2025 is a mock-up of the Stabna Special Economic Zone for the stand of the Smolensk region. The layout consists of five small layouts of different scales.

And finally, the third model - small but elegant - is made on a scale of 1/60. Remembering Sherlock Holmes, such layouts can be called «a one-pipe case». But the simplicity of the layout does not eliminate attention to detail. Also pay attention to the cabinet for the layout - a very unusual solution)

The second layout on a scale of 1/500 - also for the stand of the Kirov region - an overpass under construction in one of the districts of the city. The main object is the road and the bridge, but we, of course, had to show in detail the entire territory that fell into the layout zone) It seems to have turned out very picturesque 😉

So, the first of 4 layouts for the SPIEF, which we will tell you about in more detail, is a project for the development of a new district of the city of Kirov. The main complexity of the layout was manifested in the fact that it was necessary to collect initial data from three different developers and create a single picture from them. Layout on a very small scale 1:1000. In this size, it is not possible to show the architecture in detail, and nevertheless, each of the houses on the layout had to be analyzed and reworked for printing - and there were more than 150 of them. Another nuance of the project is that the layout had to be made in a realistic manner, while illuminating different zones. To implement this task, we decided to make the base using UV printing on light-scattering plastic. The rgb tape is hidden inside the layout. Happy holiday to all, friends! And we have a small achievement) The other day we got the first successful experience of student practice. What is an airbrush, where do we have such small figures of people, and how the architectural model is assembled in general - the answers to these questions are now known to the students of the Moscow College of Art and Design. Project manager Yulia spoke about the nuances of production, trained in painting and assembly technologies, working with various materials. The students showed themselves perfectly by completing the task containing the main stages of the architectural model production: plastic gluing, grinding, painting, oracal sampling, 3D printing processing, landscaping, etc. Separately, we want to note the ambition and creativity of students, the desire to learn new things and create beautiful things.
