Training courses on the use of water walking in medical rehabilitation have been held in Jūrmala, Latvia!
The training was organized by the Latvian Health Tourism Cluster with the aim of developing and improving innovative medical rehabilitation programs offered by Latvian rehabilitation centers and resort hotels.
Training for Latvian physiotherapists was implemented by the European Hiking Federation representatives: Sophie Chipon (European AquaWalking Instructor) and Natahlie Baert (European AquaWalking Coach), it attended by 8 physiotherapists.
The intensive training took place over four days from September 9 to 12, including theoretical training at the Jaunķemeri resort rehabilitation center and practical training on Jaunķemeri beach and in the Gulf of Riga.
After the training, it is planned to develop and improve medical rehabilitation programs in the following areas:
✅️ Active and healthy Ageing in Jurmala through Aqua Walking
✅️ Aqua Walking in Clinic Dzintari: implementing AquaWalking in the mental health rehabilitation
✅️ AquaWalking for pregnant women and young mothers at the Rehabilitation Center Jaunkemeri
