The Director General of the Authority participated in the Scientific Day celebration organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine – University of Tripoli, on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, on the occasion of the completion of the postgraduate (Master’s) coursework.

The event was marked by the distinguished presence of:
The President of the University of Tripoli
The Vice President for Medical Faculties
The Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Training
The Director of the Department of Faculty Affairs
The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
The Director of Administrative Affairs at the Faculty
Along with a number of faculty members and interested attendees.

During the event, the Director General of the Authority was honored with the Excellence Award, in recognition of his contributions as one of the distinguished faculty members in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine – University of Tripoli.

شارك السيد مدير عام الهيئة في احتفالية اليوم العلمي التي أقامها قسم الطب الشرعي والسموم بكلية الطب البشري – جامعة طرابلس، يوم الأربعاء الموافق 06 أغسطس 2025م، وذلك بمناسبة اختتام المقررات الدراسية لطلبة الإجازة العليا (الماجستير).

وقد شهدت الفعالية حضورًا رسميًا مميزًا، شمل:

The National Authority for Genetic Fingerprint Research and Analysis, at its administrative headquarters in the Faculty of Medicine – University of Tripoli, hosted the Director General of the Libyan Center for Medical Research, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between national scientific institutions.

The meeting resulted in the signing of a joint cooperation agreement aimed at:
• Supporting and advancing scientific research in the fields of genetic analysis and DNA fingerprinting.
• Promoting the exchange of expertise and scientific knowledge between specialists in both institutions.

This collaboration represents an important step toward unifying national research efforts, serving the public interest, and contributing to the advancement of scientific and medical progress in Libya.

استضافت الهيئة الوطنية لأبحاث وتحاليل البصمة الوراثية، بمقرها الإداري في جامعة طرابلس – كلية الطب البشري، السيد مدير عام المركز الليبي للبحوث الطبية، وذلك في إطار تعزيز أواصر التعاون بين المؤسسات العلمية الوطنية.

وقد أثمر هذا اللقاء عن توقيع اتفاقية تعاون مشترك تهدف إلى:
• دعم وتطوير البحوث العلمية في مجال التحاليل الجينية والبصمة الوراثية.
• تبادل الخبرات والمعرفة العلمية بين الكوادر المتخصصة في كلا المؤسستين.

ويمثل هذا التعاون خطوة مهمة نحو توحيد الجهود البحثية الوطنية، بما يخدم الصالح العام ويُسهم في تعزيز التقدم العلمي والطبي في ليبيا

نحو مستقبل أكثر ذكاءً: الهيئة الوطنية لابحاث وتحاليل للبصمة الوراثية تطلق دورة تدريبية رائدة في الذكاء الاصطناعي

في خطوة نوعية تعكس التزامها بمواكبة الثورة الرقمية وتطوير قدرات كوادرها البشرية، أطلقت الهيئة الوطنية لأبحاث وتحاليل البصمة الوراثية دورة تدريبية مكثفة بعنوان “الذكاء الاصطناعي وتطبيقاته العملية في بيئة العمل”، وذلك خلال يومي 28 و29 يوليو 2025.

وشهدت الدورة مشاركة واسعة من الموظفين الإداريين والفنيين، حيث تم التركيز على التعريف بمفاهيم الذكاء الاصطناعي وأبرز تطبيقاته العملية التي من شأنها تعزيز الكفاءة، ورفع الإنتاجية، ودعم مسار التحول الرقمي داخل الهيئة.

ما يميز هذه المبادرة أنها لم تقتصر على المختصين فقط، بل استهدفت أيضًا الكوادر غير المتخصصة، بهدف توسيع قاعدة المعرفة التقنية وتمكين جميع العاملين من استثمار أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي في تحسين الأداء اليومي والابتكار في بيئة العمل.

وتُعد هذه الدورة جزءًا من رؤية الهيئة الاستراتيجية لبناء مؤسسة ذكية، تواكب المتغيرات العالمية في المجالين العلمي والإداري، وتعزز مكانتها كمركز وطني رائد في الأبحاث والتحاليل الجينية

Towards a Smarter Future: The National Authority for Genetic Fingerprinting Research and Analysis Launches a Pioneering AI Training Program

In a significant step that reflects its commitment to keeping pace with the digital revolution and enhancing the capabilities of its human resources, the National Authority for Genetic Fingerprinting Research and Analysis launched an intensive training course titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Practical Applications in the Workplace”, held on July 28–29, 2025.

The course witnessed broad participation from administrative and technical staff, focusing on introducing key concepts of artificial intelligence and highlighting practical applications that can improve efficiency, increase productivity, and support the Authority’s digital transformation efforts.

What makes this initiative stand out is its inclusive approach—it was not limited to specialists but also targeted non-specialist staff. The aim was to expand the technical knowledge base and empower all employees to harness AI tools to enhance daily operations and foster innovation in the workplace.

This training course is part of the Authority’s strategic vision to build a smart institution that keeps up with global developments in both scientific and administrative fields, reinforcing its role as a national leader in genetic research and analysis.

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the National Authority for Genetic Fingerprinting Research and Analysis had the honor of concluding the training course organized by the African Genomic Data Center (AFRIGEN-D), titled:
“Introduction to Bioinformatics (IBT2025)”.

This course was hosted for the first time in Libya and provided a valuable opportunity for specialists and enthusiasts from across the country to participate over a period of three months.

The course was organized and coordinated by:
Ahmed Al-Mabrouk, Dr. Bushra Al-Gharous, Dr. Safa Al-Fandi, Dr. Mawadda Al-Badri, Nuha Al-Maadani, Amal Al-Humaidi, Hamza Al-Maadani, Eng. Hamza Al-Aqraban, and Dr. Iman Talha from the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) — whose wonderful contribution to the closing ceremony we deeply appreciate, along with the presence of Dr. Hanan Harb, Head of the Maternal and Child Health Department at the Health Promotion and Protection Program.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Director General of the Authority, Dr. Abdulmawli Abouqrein, for his pivotal role in the success of this course.
We hope that the National Authority for Genetic Fingerprinting Research and Analysis will continue to serve as a reference point for professionals and researchers in the field of bioinformatics.

تشرفت الهيئة الوطنية لأبحاث وتحاليل البصمة الوراثية يوم الثلاثاء 15/7/2025م، باختتام الدورة التدريبية المقدمة من مركز بيانات الجينوم الافريقي AFRIGEN-D).) بعنوان ( مقدمة في المعلوماتية الحيوية IBT2025 ) والتي تم استضافتها لأول مرة في ليبيا وأتاحت الفرصة لمشاركة عدد من المختصين والمهتمين من كافة ربوع ليبيا لمدة ثلاثة أشهر.
أشرف على تنظيم وتنسيق الدورة : أحمد المبروك – د.بشري الغروس - د. صفاء الفاندي - د.مودة البدري - نهي المعداني - أمال الحميدي - حمزة المعداني - م.حمزة العقربان - و الدكتورة أيمان طلحة من المركز الوطني لمكافحة الأمراض، الذي سرنا بمساهمتهم الرائعة في احياء الحفل الختامي وحضور رئيسة قسم صحة الأم والطفل بإدارة برنامج تعزيز وحماية الصحة د.حنان حرب.

Meeting to Strengthen International Cooperation and Build Staff Capacities

As part of the continuous efforts by the National Authority for Genetic Fingerprint Research and Analysis to expand internationally and enhance institutional performance, Dr. Abdulmawla Mousa Abuqrein, Director General of the Authority, held a meeting this morning, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, with:
Prof. Dr. Mujaddid Deen Al-Ghadban – Scientific Advisor, International Cooperation Office
Dr. Ahmed Ramadan Mabrouk – Director, Department of Research and Scientific Consultations
Eng. Hisham Moftah Abudallal – Director, Quality Assurance Office
Ms. Nairouz Nasr Abdulnabi – Director, Office of the Director General
Dr. Mabrouka Algharouse – Scientific Advisor at the Authority

The meeting focused on laying down strategic foundations for cooperation with international organizations to enhance staff skills through training and development programs, and to promote the Authority internationally.
The Director General emphasized the importance of building effective international partnerships to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and expertise and to support the Authority in achieving its goals in line with global best practices.

ناقش الاجتماع وضع أُسس استراتيجية للتعاون مع المنظمات الدولية بما يسهم في رفع كفاءة الموظفين من خلال البرامج التدريبية والدورات المتخصصة، إلى جانب التعريف بالهيئة في الأوساط الدولية وتعزيز مكانتها.
وأكد السيد المدير العام على أهمية بناء شراكات دولية فاعلة تضمن نقل المعرفة والخبرات وتحقيق أهداف الهيئة.

Distinguished Educational Visit

As part of supporting the educational process and enhancing students’ scientific knowledge, Souq Al-Jum’aa Secondary School for Boys organized an educational visit to the headquarters of the National Authority for DNA Research and Analysis. During the visit, students were introduced to the latest advancements achieved by the Authority in the field of DNA research and genetic fingerprint analysis.

The school delegation was welcomed by a number of researchers and specialists at the Authority, who guided the students on an informative tour inside the laboratories and research facilities. The tour included explanations of work mechanisms and the importance of genetic analysis in both medical and research fields.

The students and accompanying teachers expressed their happiness with this visit, which greatly enriched their scientific understanding. They emphasized the significance of such initiatives that bridge theoretical education with practical application and raise students’ awareness of the vital role of scientific research and technology in serving society.



زيارة تعليمية متميزة

في إطار دعم العملية التعليمية وتعزيز المعرفة العلمية لدى الطلاب، قامت مدرسة سوق الجمعة الثانوية بنين بزيارة تعليمية إلى مقر الهيئة الوطنية لأبحاث وتحاليل البصمة الوراثية، حيث اطلع الطلاب على أحدث ما توصلت إليه الهيئة في مجال أبحاث الحمض النووي وتحاليل البصمة الوراثية.

واستقبل وفد المدرسة عدد من الباحثين والمتخصصين في الهيئة، واصطحبوا الطلاب في جولة تعريفية داخل المختبرات والمعامل ، حيث تم شرح آليات العمل وأهمية التحاليل الجينية في المجالات الطبية والبحثية.

وقد أعرب الطلاب والمعلمون المرافقون لهم عن سعادتهم بهذه الزيارة التي أضافت الكثير إلى معرفتهم العلمية، مؤكدين أهمية مثل هذه المبادرات التي تربط التعليم النظري بالتطبيق العملي وتعزز من وعي الطلاب بأهمية البحث العلمي والتكنولوجيا في خدمة المجتمع.

The National Authority for DNA Research and Analysis celebrated World DNA Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Rasheed Kaabar Auditorium located at the University of Tripoli, under the slogan:
“We Read Our Past, Understand Our Present, and Shape Our Future.”

The event was attended by a distinguished group of experts, academics, specialists, and enthusiasts in the field, as well as department directors and staff members of the Authority.

The event was inaugurated with a welcoming speech by Dr. Abdulmawla Abouqrein, who greeted the attendees and provided an overview of the Authority’s role and the vital services it offers to society.

The celebration featured several scientific lectures, presentations, and a scientific competition with the participation of various medical colleges.

Among the lectures presented during the event:

• Genetic Fingerprinting and Its Applications
Presented by Dr. Mabrouka Al-Ghrous

At the conclusion of the lectures, a panel discussion was held, moderated by Dr. Ahmed Ramadan, and included participation from Dr. Abdulmawla Mousa Abouqrein, Dr. Omar Al-Qawi, and Dr. Mabrouka Al-Ghrous, in which the topics covered in the lectures were discussed with active engagement from the audience.

Before the closing, a scientific competition took place involving teams from the faculties of Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Agriculture, with the Veterinary Medicine Faculty team winning first place.

The event concluded with the honoring of outstanding participants, speakers, and attendees with certificates of appreciation and symbolic gifts, in recognition of their active participation and distinguished presence.

أحيت الهيئة الوطنية لأبحاث وتحاليل البصمة الوراثية إحتفالاً باليوم العالمي للحمض النووي ( DNA DAY ) وذلك يوم السبت الموافق 26 أبريل 2025 بمدرج رشيد كعبار الواقع بجامعة طرابلس تحت شعار ( نقرأ ماضينا نفهم حاضرنا نرسم مستقبلنا ) .
حضر هذا الإحتفال لفيف من الخبراء والأكاديميين والمهتمين والمختصين في هذا المجال إلى جانب مدراء الإدارات وموظفي الهيئة .
افتتحت الفعالية بكلمة الدكتور عبدالمولى أبوقرين والتي رحب فيها بالسادة الحضور الكريم شارحا دور الهيئة والخدمات التي تقدمها والتي تخدم المجتمع بشكل كبير .
وقد تضمنت الإحتفالية عدة محاضرات علمية وعروض تقديمية ومسابقة علمية شاركت فيها مجموعة من الكليات الطبية

وفي نهاية المحاضرات عقدت حوارية أدارها الدكتور أحمد رمضان وبمشاركة الدكتور عبدالمولى موسى أبوقرين والدكتور عمر القوي والدكتورة مبروكة الغروس تم من خلالها مناقشة ما تناوله المشاركون في محاضراتهم وبمشاركة الحاضرون للحدث .
وقبل الختام أجريت المسابقة العلمية والتي شاركت فيها كليات الطب البشري والطب البيطري والزراعة والتي انتهت بفوز فريق كلية الطب البيطري .
وفي ختام الحدث تم تكريم المتفوقين والمشاركين والحاضرين بشهائد تكريم وهدايا عينية رمزية تقديرا من الهيئة لمشاركتهم الفاعلة وحضورهم المتميز .
