đź’» Lecture Abstract: Venous disease is a common yet often under-recognized condition that can significantly impact quality of life and lead to serious complications if left untreated. This presentation will equip naturopathic physicians with tools to identify early and advanced signs of venous disease, including patients at risk for progression to chronic venous insufficiency, bleeding varicosities, infections, venous leg ulcers, and significant lower extremity edema.
We will explore the latest conservative and non-interventional therapies, including medical-grade compression, intermittent sequential compression devices, lifestyle interventions, and patient education strategies. In addition, attendees will gain insight into the current standard-of-care guidelines for venous disease, with a focus on when to refer for interventional management.
This session emphasizes collaborative care between naturopathic and vascular specialists to improve early recognition, enhance symptom management, and reduce complications—ultimately supporting better outcomes for patients living with venous disorders.
