This day in kidney history: On March 9, 1960, Clyde Shields became the first person to be treated with repeated 'haemodialysis' in Seattle, Washington. Later developments were created allowing for better access to the vascular system and new forms of modern-day , eventually saving millions of lives. 💙
The first was also celebrated on March 9, 2006, started by the International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations!🎉
