New published study! 💥
We are proud to announce that on October 21, 2024, a scientific article was published in Medicina MDPI, based on a one-year clinical study conducted at the Department of Intensive Internal Medicine at the General Teaching Hospital Celje, Slovenia.
The study, titled Functional Magnetic Neuromuscular Stimulation vs. Routine Physiotherapy in the Critically Ill for Prevention of ICU Acquired Muscle Loss: A Randomised Controlled Trial, was carried out by a team led by Prof. Dr. Matej Podbregar, MD, specialist in internal medicine and intensive care, Alja Jevšnik, physiotherapist, Dr. Anej Skočir, MD, specialist in emergency medicine, and Prim. Mag. Lidija Plaskan, MD, specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
The study presents significant findings on the effectiveness of functional magnetic neuromuscular stimulation compared to routine physiotherapy in preventing muscle loss in critically ill patients. The research results will make an important contribution to improving patient care in cases of muscle loss.
Congratulations to the team for their professional and dedicated implementation of functional magnetic stimulation (FMS) in critically ill patients and for successfully conducting and publishing the study in a scientific journal that ranks among the top 25% most cited journals in the field of medicine.
