The magic of yoga often reveals itself in the moments after the last pose, when the body finally surrenders to stillness. After an intense practice, your muscles have been strengthened and stretched, your breath has carried you through effort, and your mind has been focused in the present. As you rest — whether in Savasana or simply sitting quietly — your heart rate begins to slow, your nervous system shifts from the active ‘fight or flight’ mode into the calming ‘rest and digest’ state. The tension you’ve been holding melts away, your joints feel spacious, and your breath deepens naturally. This is when the body integrates all the work you’ve done, recalibrating balance and harmony. It’s a gentle, quiet transformation that you can’t rush — a reminder that yoga is as much about the pauses as it is about the poses.
