✅ The truth: It's not a hipster trend, but a structural response to the scarcity of fertile soil, the climate crisis, and urbanization.
📊 According to FAO and UN data, 70% of the population will live in cities by 2050. We need urban, scalable solutions.

❌ 4. "It's all automated, we don't need humans"
✅ The truth: Automation reduces labor, but we need technicians, agronomists, programmers, and analysts.
🤖 Humans aren't disappearing: their roles are changing. The future of agriculture is tech-driven, but human-led.

A growing system in which the roots of plants are immersed in a nutrient solution, often managed with closed recirculation. It is the most widespread technique: efficient, scalable, and perfect for continuous and controlled production.

💨 Aeroponics
The plant roots are suspended and sprayed at regular intervals with high-pressure nutrient solutions. It requires more technology, but guarantees maximum oxygenation and water savings.

🐟 Aquaponics
An integrated system that combines (fish farming) and . The fish's metabolic waste is converted into nutrients that can be absorbed by plants through bacterial nitrification. SPECTRUM: WHAT DO PLANTS SEE?
🌈 Plants do not use all visible light.
They only absorb the light needed for photosynthesis, called:
📐 PAR – Photosynthetically Active Radiation
Range: 400–700 nanometers (nm)
🔵 Blue light (400–500 nm):
• Stimulates vegetative growth
• Strengthens structure and foliage
🔴 Red light (600–700 nm):
• Promotes flowering and fruiting
• Stimulates cell elongation
✅ Agronomic LEDs use spectra calibrated for each phase of cultivation.

LIGHT INTENSITY: HOW MUCH LIGHT DO YOU NEED?
🔆 Intensity is measured in PPFD (µmol/m²/s): Quantity of PAR photons that reach plants every second.

🌱 Practical examples:
• Microgreens: 100–200 µmol/m²/s
• Lettuce: 200–300 µmol/m²/s
• Strawberries or tomatoes: 400–600+ µmol/m²/s

⚠️ Too much light can cause photoinhibition
⚠️ Too little slows down photosynthesis
🎯 The goal is to find the optimal balance between light and energy cost

DURATION / PHOTOPERIOD
⏱️ The photoperiod regulates the day/night cycle:
- Short-day (e.g. strawberries): 8–12h

In nature, a plant is forced to adapt to external conditions: changes in temperature, lack of light, water and nutritional changes slow down growth and compromise quality.

🔁 In a vertical farm, however, every parameter is under control:
💡 LED light calibrated to the second,

💧 Nutrients dosed to the milliliter,
