This new district constitutes a hold on the sea of ββ22 hectares, achieved thanks to the will of Prince Rainier III who wished to enlarge the territory of the Principality. If we can say that the Rock is the heart of the Principality, Fontvieille is most certainly its lung. Within this district, we find a summary of everything that makes a dynamic city, namely:
residential areas,
sports (Stade
Louis II), cultural (Espace Fontvieille, Espace LΓ©o FerrΓ©, Vintage Car and Navy Museums, Office for Postage Stamp Emissions) and commercial (C.C. Fontvieille),
restaurants,
a school and a university,
economic development zones (secondary and tertiary sectors),
green spaces,
a marina. Regarding the Stade Louis II in particular, Prince Rainier III had wished:
perfectly integrated into the neighborhood from an architectural point of view,
rational, in order to be able to make optimal use of all the space (ring of commercial and administrative offices, restaurant, sports halls, car parks),
at the forefront of the latest technologies and / or trends (pioneer in many areas, such as video surveillance, the installation of press desks in the stands, etc.),
omnisports, to expand the sports offer,
to international standards, to be able to host the biggest events,
accessible, to allow the population to practice whatever their level of sport. The main dates for the construction of the stadium
