This 71 y.o. female was referred to our clinic with hand motion VA in OS. OD has NLP for many years after a childhood trauma. B-scan OS revealed a dense vitreous hemorrhage with no retinal traction. An intravitreal injection of Bevacizumab was made, after which the vitreous cleared and we could see a dense subretinal hemorrhage. Another 2 consecutive Bevacizumab injections were made at 1 month interval and we realized that actually it was a ruptured retinal arterial macroaneurysm. Finally she gained BCVA of 0.2.

Male 30 y.o. with congenital cataract and NLP at OD and sudden diminishing of BCVA to 0.05 in OS. FA even though poorly exposed showed some leakage in superior retina. OCT macula appeared to show diffuse loss of EZ. Diffuse patchy choroid with RPE changes were seen especially in the superior retina.
Systemic workup reveals that patient is (++++) positive for syphilis.

Here is a case of small juxtapapillary malignant melanoma of choroid in a 55 y.o. male. Because of its small size we have decided to follow this patient closely after the diagnosis.
What would be your management in this case?
What are the treatment modalities of this condition in your countries in general?

Today we have good options for treating advanced stages of diabetic retinopathy - intravitrel injections, laser, vitrectomy, but these treatments usually are invasive or costly. At present there is no widely accepted treatment modality for hard macular exudates, which are a sight threatening condition in patients with diabetes.
Female 57 y.o. with PDR and macular edema had decreased vision mainly because of macular hard exudates. Her BCVA was OD/OS=0.05/0.1 at presentation. In 6 months hard exudates resolved completely and her BCVA improved to OD/OS=0.2/0.3. Previously this patient had anti-VEGF injections and PRP, which did not influence hard exudates appearance.
How do you think what treatment did we apply to manage these hard exudates?
How do you treat hard exudates?

This video was shot exactly 3 years ago at the end of Venice Ophthalmology Summer School. It is a really nice week long experience for all young ophthalmologists interested in retinal diseases. This year for known reasons school was not held, but next year I encourage you to apply.

By the way what do you think about my forst vlogging experience? :)

Optic nerve head drusen are abnormal collections of protein and calcium that accumulate within the optic nerve. This is a quite rare pathology which occurs in about 1-2% of the population. Drusen are usually well seen ophthalmoscopically, but especially in fundus autofluorescence. In this 60 y.o. man bilateral drusen are particularly big and cause thinning of RNFL in macula as well as at the optic nerve head. His BCVA is OD/OS=0,9/0,7.
