Why Clear Aligners!

Clear aligners can significantly improve the articulation (over short or long time period) as well as lip competence and facial muscle tone. Thus, they are viable option to manage posterior cross-bite and to control over jet with minimal side effects.
It is also claimed that clear aligners produce gentle pressure of the gingiva, thus provide gingival message and improve periodontal health which usually declines following orthodontic treatment.

Some orthodontists use clear aligners with their patients prior to installing the fixed braces, which could significantly shorten the treatment period. In this case, clear aligners are considered an adjunctive therapy as it improves the so-called first-order alignment.

Moreover, orthodontists use clear aligners following the traditional braces treatment period as retainers to prevent the relapse that is common at the post-treatment stage.

Nevertheless, clear aligners, although being removable, comfortable, painless, esthetic treatment option, still need high patient compliance. Clear aligners also require good maintenance of oral hygiene and cleaning habits.
