COVID-19’s impact on poverty in Myanmar demanded that more than 🔻83 percent of households have reported a drop in income since the start of 2020, according to the UNDP🔍.

Rising food 🍚and fuel prices⛽️ in Myanmar since the covid risk undermining the ability of poor families to feed themselves. Palm oil 20 percent higher 🌴and rice prices up 4 percent in the Yangon and Mandalay areas since the end of February 2020.

Do you know how much national poverty rates in Myanmar have risen 📈dramatically due to the current events and economic disruption?

In spatial terms, three-quarters of predicted newly poor households are in rural areas.😔

When it comes to the daily and monthly expenses in those rural areas, recommended daily amounts of lower-cost types of foods,such as broken rice 🌾 , non-export quality pulses 🫘, and palm oil 🛢, would cost between 💰51,500 MMK and 💰63,000 MMK per household per month at current prices.

Depending on the fact that most of Myanmar’s poor are in rural areas, short-term food assistance 🫓is essential to enable vulnerable poor households to avoid extreme hunger and irreversible financial or health consequences. 😰And our community, 🦉Zigway, is always finding a way to lend a hand to help the people who are urgently in need of help in Myanmar.🙋‍♀️

UMFCCI predicted that diversifying food products, beyond rice, is very important to rural-urban value chains. About 70% of Myanmar’s non-rice food consumption is in the urban areas. Roughly 60% of corn in Myanmar goes into urban feed mills, 5 to 9% per year for potatoes, and 6 to 7% for chillies, garlic, and onions, all products that are mainly consumed domestically; yet the overall population is only growing at about 1%. This suggests in particular the growth of urban markets for vegetables.

With the current omicron wave, here's a reminder of how to keep you, your family and your community safe by preventing the spread of COVID-19:
1. Wash your hands often. Use soap and water and wash for at least 20 seconds. If you can't access soap and water, use an alcohol-based rub or spray.

လူသားချင်း စာနာထောက်ထားသူများသည် လက်နက်မဲ့များ ဖြစ်ကြသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် ယင်းတို့၏ လုံခြုံရေးသည် ကာကွယ်မှု၊ ခြိမ်းခြောက် ဟန့်တားမှု နှင့် လက်ခံမှုတို့အပေါ်တွင် မူတည်နေသည်။ 💭ထိုလုံခြုံရေးနှင့် ထပ်မံစပ်လျဥ်း၍ လုံခြုံမှုရှိစေရန် သေချာစေခြင်းသည် ဆောက်လုပ်ရေး၊ ကူသန်းသွားလာရေးနှင့် ကျန်မားရေး ကြိုတင်ကာကွယ်ရေး စသော သာမန်လှုပ်ရှားမှုများကို လုံလောက်ဖူလုံစေခြင်း ရှိရမည်။

According to Human Rights Watch📢, Burmese Civilians have suffered most 🤕 in the escalating fighting between the ethnic Arakan Army and the Myanmar military in Rakhine and Chin States.😢

OHCHR reported that approximately 500 civilians 📈were killed in 2020 in the conflict.😔At least 200 villages in Chin State faced serious food shortages due to the conflict.

43 children were killed and 103 maimed between January and June 2020.😱

Also, a group of NGOs said at least 48 civilians were killed between February and August due to the fighting in northern Shan State. 😔In September, Myanmar troops clashed with the Kachin Independence Army in Muse, causing internally displaced peoples to flee multiple times.🏚

OHCHR က ၂၀၂၀ ခုနစ်မှာ ခန့်‌မှန်းခြေ ၅၀၀ လောက်ရှိတဲ့ အရပ်သားတို့ ပဋိပက္ခတွေကြား အသတ်ခံခဲ့ရတယ်လို့ ထုတ်ပြန်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ 😢 ချင်းပြည််နယ်မှာရှိတဲ့ အနည်းဆုံး ရွာ ၂၀၀ ကျော်က ထိုပဋိပက္ခတွေကြောင့် အစာရေဆာ ပြတ်လပ်မှုတွေကို ဆိုးရွားစွာ 🤕ခံစားခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ 😥

၂၀၂၀ ခုနစ် ဇန်နဝါရီလနှင့် ဇွန်လ အတွင်း ကလေးငယ် ၄၃ ဦး အသတ်ခံခဲ့ရပြီး၊ ၁၀၃ ဦးဟာ သေရာပါဒဏ်ရာတွေကို ခံစားခဲ့ရပါတယ်။😔

NGO အဖွဲ့အစည်းတို့၏ ပြောကြား‌ချက်အရလည်း ရှမ်းပြည်နယ် မြောက်ပိုင်းမှာ ဖေဖော်ဝါရီလနှင့် သြဂုတ်လ အတွင်း ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့တဲ့ တိုက်ပွဲတွေကြောင့် 🏚😥အနည်ဆုံး အရပ်သားပြည်သူ ၄၈ ဦး အသတ်ခံခဲ့ရပြီး၊ စက်တင်ဘာလမှာ မြန်မာ့စစ်တပ်နှင့် ကချင်လွတ်လပ်ရေး စစ်တပ်တို့ အချင်းဖြစ်ပွားကြရာ ထိုအနီးအနားရှိ 🏚အိမ်ခြေများ အကြိမ်ပေါင်းများစွာ အိုးပစ်၊ အိမ်ပစ် ထွက်ပြေးခဲ့ရပါတယ်။

Our country is comprised of bunches of flowers, which are bright, admired and spectacular.
Over past months, our petals have fallen and been damaged, with some new 49,800 IDPs across the country having fled from their homes.
