✨They are coming - Winning entries of CITIC Star Pauk-Phaw Friendship Video Clip Competition✨
The Myanmar-China “Pauk-Phaw” friendship continues to flourish with renewed vitality as it is passed on through generations. Now that Gen Z is gradually becoming the backbone of society, how do Myanmar's Gen Z youth perceive Chinese culture and the "Pauk-Phaw" bond?
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations, CITIC Myanmar joined hands with China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD), China Foundation for Peace and Development, Myanmar Maritime University (MMU), and University of Foreign Languages, Yangon (YUFL), to co-host CITIC Star Pauk-Phaw Friendship Video Clip Competition, compiling a vivid answer to this question. The competition was open to recipients of the CITIC Star Scholarship at Myanmar Maritime University and University of Foreign Languages, Yangon, providing them with professional training on video making and a platform to showcase their work. It encouraged students to explore Chinese culture and tell stories of people-to-people connections between Myanmar and China from their own perspectives and voices.
After joint evaluations by MMU, YUFL, CFRD and CITIC Myanmar, 9 video clips rose above the competition. At a recent event titled "Dialogue & Friendship" celebrating the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations on the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, a number of distinguished guests from both Myanmar and China presented awards to the winners of this competition.
These works vividly showcase how Myanmar's Gen Zers interpret Chinese culture, using motion pictures to document the enduring legacy of Myanmar-China "Pauk-Phaw" friendship among people of the younger generation.
The award-winning videos will be released on CITIC Myanmar's page. Stay tuned to feel the creativity and passion of the Gen Z youth from Myanmar!
