According to NASA, astronauts can face different health problems - from weaker bones and muscles to vision issues and 'baby feet' - as their bodies adjust back to the planet’s gravity.

The news reporter also discussed the risks of osteoporosis as the astronauts' bones become 'about 1% less dense for every month that they are in space.' Not to mention that astronauts also get taller in space due to their 'spinal column expanding' but once they return to Earth, it contracts again which can lead to back issues.

Additionally, due to long-term radiation exposure, astronauts can be at a heightened risk of radiation sickness, cancer, central nervous system effects and degenerative diseases, NASA described.
"In low earth orbit where the ISS is, astronauts are at least partially protected by the magnetosphere that protects Earth from the radiation exposure of deep space," noted Dr. Rihana Bokhari, acting chief scientific officer at Baylor College of Medicine's Translational Research Institute for Space Health.

踝關節急性扭傷後,以下注意事項:

緊急處理

• 休息:受傷後應立即停止正在進行的任何運動或活動,讓受傷的踝關節得到充分休息。這是為了防止繼續活動導致損傷進一步加重,比如避免行走、跑步、跳躍等,盡可能保持受傷肢體的靜止狀態。

• 冰敷:在扭傷後的24 - 48小時內,是腫脹和疼痛的高峰期,冰敷非常關鍵。可以用冰袋或用毛巾包裹冰塊,敷在受傷部位。每次冰敷15 - 20分鐘,每2 - 3小時進行一次。冰敷能使局部血管收縮,減少出血和滲出,從而減輕腫脹和疼痛。

• 加壓包扎:使用彈性繃帶進行加壓包扎,從腳趾開始,向上纏繞至小腿中部。包扎時要注意力度適中,開始時稍鬆,逐漸加大壓力,以能感覺到輕微的壓迫感但不影響血液循環為宜。這樣可以限制腫脹的發展,為受傷組織提供穩定的環境。

• 抬高患肢:將受傷的腳抬高,一般要高於心臟水平15 - 20釐米。可以在腿部下方墊上枕頭或被子等,促進血液迴流,減輕腫脹。在休息和睡覺時都應保持這種抬高的姿勢。

日常護理

• 避免負重:受傷後的2 - 3週內,要避免讓受傷的踝關節承受體重。可以藉助拐杖、輪椅等輔助器具來移動,防止受傷關節受到壓力而影響恢復。如果必須站立或行走,可使用護踝等支具來提供額外的支撐和穩定性。

• 選擇合適的鞋子:應選擇舒適、穩定且有良好支撐力的鞋子。比如運動鞋,其鞋底有足夠的彈性和緩衝,能減輕關節的衝擊力;鞋幫要能提供良好的包裹性和支撐性,可選擇高幫款式,有助於限制踝關節的過度活動。避免穿高跟鞋、拖鞋或鞋底過軟的鞋子。

• 注意休息姿勢:休息時要保持正確的姿勢,避免長時間壓迫受傷部位。可在腿部下方墊上多個枕頭或墊子,使患肢保持舒適的抬高位置,同時要注意身體的整體姿勢,避免因長時間保持一個姿勢而導致其他部位肌肉疲勞或疼痛。

• 密切觀察症狀:仔細留意受傷部位的腫脹、疼痛、淤血等症狀的變化。如果腫脹在48小時後仍持續加重,疼痛程度超出了正常範圍,或者出現皮膚變色、麻木、發涼等感覺異常,以及關節活動受限明顯加重等情況,可能意味著有更嚴重的損傷,如韌帶斷裂、骨折等,應及時診斷檢查。

預防膽固醇超標4大飲食貼士
要預防血液中的膽固醇水平過高,以減低患上冠心病和中風的機會,衞生署建議在飲食上可注意以下事項:

1. 減少進食含高飽和脂肪和反式脂肪的食物
高飽和脂肪

主要來源:動物性脂肪
對身體影響:使血液更易凝結,引致血管硬化、中風、心臟病等疾病,並促進肝臟產生膽固醇,令血液的壞膽固醇水平上升
反式脂肪

主要來源:肪於植物油的氫化程序中形成
對身體影響:令血液的壞膽固醇水平上升,降低好膽固醇水平,增加患上心血管疾病的風險
2. 膳食膽固醇的攝入量越少越好
雞蛋、魷魚、蝦、蟹等含高膽固醇,但脂肪含量較低的食物,應作「肉、魚、蛋及代替品」攝入量計算及適量食用

3. 多吃含豐富水溶性膳食纖維的食物
食物例子:蔬菜、水果、麥皮、乾豆類
功效:水溶性纖維能與膽固醇相似的油脂物結合並排出體外,有助降低膽固醇水平
4. 適量攝取不飽和脂肪
食物例子:橄欖油、芥花籽油、芝麻、合桃、腰果、牛油果
功效:降低體內壞膽固醇水平,保持血管暢通
