FM DX RTT Radio Culture Monastir 103.7 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. Duct tropo was observed towards parts in Tunisia whilst being around Wied Iz Zurrieq. This one managed to overtake a local station, ‘Campus FM’ which is few kilometres away towards Gharghur TX. You can hear the duct within the transmission itself. Not only that but it managed to encode its RDS Data by displaying ‘CULTURE’. It was changing to 105.4 MHz, due to being the strongest signal at that time. It is broadcasting from Tunisia’s Amiret Hatem FM Transmitter that houses around 1.5 kW in transmission power and is approximately 335 kilometres away towards Monastir. 73 😊

AM DX SW 7440 KHz China Radio International in Chinese From Malta. The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors which the reception performance was fair using its own telescopic antenna as it was audible. According to Short Wave Info, the schedule has changed and it used to be broadcasting everyday from 21:00 PM to 22:00 PM (UTC+1). It used to be broadcasting from China’s Beijing Transmitter that housed around 500 kW in transmission power that is approximately 8,410 kilometres away towards Beijing. 73 😊

FM DX RNE Radio Clasica Minorca 97.1 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. Duct level tropo towards Western Mediterranean as apart it reached Minorca, it reached as well mainland Spain. The place of catch was around Popeye’s Village which opens a great rift towards the sea, acting as a straight line. It reached RDS levels on displaying ‘RNE-CLAS’ with its PI Code showing as ‘RNE-CLAS’. It is broadcasting from Balearic Islands’s Es Mercadal FM Transmitter which houses around 10 kW in transmission power that is approximately 1,005 kilometres away towards Minorca. 73 😊

FM DX BNR Hristo Botev Burgas 95.3 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2025]. Splendid SpE catches towards many countries such as Bulgaria, Turkey, North Macedonia, Romania, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Greece with a hint from Russia. The TEF6686 did quite well whilst connected to the 7 Element Yagi Antenna as RDS levels reached by displaying ‘BNR – HR.BOTEV’. Its PI Code displayed ‘8220’. ID is heard by 2:15 which the news countdown is heard by 2:25 whilst it began by 2:30. It is broadcasting from Bulgaria’s Nesebar FM Transmitter that houses around 81 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,370 kilometres away towards Burgas. 73 😊

AM DX MW 531 KHz Radio Algerie Internationale Algeria From Rome. This is was during the holiday trip to Rome. The recording took place within the Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo hotel. The XHDATA D-808 performed not that bad but the reception quality was not at best as it may be heard well with headphones. It is broadcasting from Algeria’s F’Kirina Transmitter which houses around a flamethrowing signal of 600 kW in transmission power that is approximately 800 kilometres away towards Oum El Bouaghi. 73 😊

FM DX La Jungla Radio Valencia 103.9 MHz From Valencia [Local]. This was during the weekend holiday trip towards Valencia. The place was around Carrer del Palau de Justícia Streets. TEF6686 did quite well and it reached RDS levels by displaying ‘LAJUNGLA’ with its PI Code displaying as ‘B456’. STL DX Tareeq Al-Salaf Radio Tripoli 81.76 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. TEF6686 did quite well as there was a duct tropo towards Libya. Transmission is stable and this was an STL for the original frequency of 100.3 MHz. No RDS data was captured. It used to be broadcasting from Libya’s Tarabulus FM Transmitter that housed an unknown transmission power which is approximately 355 kilometres away towards Tripoli. 73 😊

AM DX SW 17620 KHz Radio France International in French From Malta. The XHDATA D-808 does quite well in its reception despite being placed indoors and using its telescopic antenna. As per Short Wave Info, the schedule is still being produced and transmissions are still running daily from 19:00 PM to 20:00 PM (UTC+2). It is broadcasting from France’s Issoudun Transmitter of around 500 kW in power which is approximately 1,600 kilometres away. 73 😊

FM DX Top Radio Albania Tirana 100.0 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. Duct tropo was observed over Puglia, all the way towards Albania. It was an overcast weather with temperatures reaching around 28 Degrees Celsius. The song being played is ‘Vaj Si Kenka Ba Dynjaja’ by Shkodra Elektronike Ft. Fanfara Tirana. Despite that RDS levels were not reached, it still was audible by the BMW E60 OEM Radio. It is broadcasting from Albania’s Tirana FM Transmitter which houses around 150 kW in transmission power that is approximately 775 kilometres away towards Tirana. 73 😊

FM DX SNRT Al Idaa Al-Watania Oriental 88.1 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2025]. An unexpected opening towards parts in Morocco, Melila and Spain. The day was hot and humid which some tropo was around as also Lampedusa’s Rai Radio 1 Jingle ID is heard by 0:43. The TEF6686 did quite well and impressive on reaching RDS levels by displaying ‘SNRT-Nat’ and its PI Code ‘1201’, when compared with the Nissan Qashqai’s radio, not even it decoded RDS. It is broadcasting from Morocco’s Touzarine FM Transmitter that houses around 1.26 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,650 kilometres away towards Oriental. 73 😊

AM DX MW 1098 KHz RNE Radio 5 Galicia From Oxford. It was This was during the final days in Oxford due to family’s medical treatment. It was difficult to catch and very hardly audible with the XHDATA D-808. A lot of white noises was present on the frequency. It is broadcasting from Spain’s ideal Lugo Transmitter that houses around 25 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,080 kilometres away towards Galicia. 73 😊

OIRT DX UR 3 Radio Kultura Odesa 72.14 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2024]. It was a great day of SpE as Ukraine, Moldova and a hint of Russia was observed. Despite the difficulty in maintain reception, the newer TEF6686 did its best with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna and was audible. It is broadcasting from Ukraine’s Odesa FM Transmitter that houses around 4 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,795 kilometres away towards Odesa. 73 😊
