FM DX Radio Dimensione Suono Agrigento 90.1 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 12/04/2024 at around 00:20 AM (UTC+2). Weak tropo towards parts in Sicily. The TEF6686 with its telescopic antenna has been demonstrated which showing that its LNA 5.0 makes a difference but not when decoding its RDS levels. It reached RDS levels by displaying ‘* RDS *’ with its PI Code ‘5264’. It is broadcasting from Agrigento’s San Giovanni Gemini FM Transmitter of around 1 kW in power which is approximately 210 kilometres away. 73 😊

It was a windy day which did not disrupt tropo levels towards parts in Libya and Tunisia. RDS levels were reached as it displayed ‘ALMADINA’ with its PI Code ‘9550’. The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors which reception levels were not the best but it was audible at times. According to Short Wave Info, transmissions are still taking place, daily from 00:30 AM to 02:30 AM (UTC+2). FM DX RTL 102.5 Calabria 94.0 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 27/02/2024 at around 20:30 PM (UTC+2). Tropo was present around the Calabrian area. TEF6686 did quite well on handling the reception as despite it was with heavy static, it is audible. It is connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna. ID is heard by 0:40. RDS levels were not reached. It is broadcasting from Italy’s Palizzi FM Transmitter that house around 39.8 kW in transmission power that is approximately 270 kilometres away towards Calabria. 73 😊

The TEF6686 did quite well whilst connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna, despite not reaching RDS levels. It was next to a semi local Rai Radio 2 on 96.7 MHz. The song being heard is ‘Closer’ by ‘The Chainsmokers’ Featuring Halsey. It is broadcasting from Romania’s Sibiu FM Transmitter that houses around 6 kW in transmission power that is approximately 1,345 kilometres away towards Paltinis. 73 😊

It was caught on 27/11/2021 at around 11:20 PM (UTC+0). This was during the stay in Oxford due to family’s medical reasons. Just outside the Conifers Guest House, the reception proved to be great during day time. The XHDATA D-808 did quite well which also the reception is great. It is broadcasting from Worchester’s Droitwich Transmitter of around 150 kW in power which is approximately 85 kilometres away towards the Conifers Guest House in Headington where our stay was. 73 😊

FM DX Europe 2 Lourdes 98.2 MHz From Lourdes [Local]. It was caught on 18/04/2024 at around 22:30 PM (UTC+2). This was during the holiday trip to Lourdes. The place of catch is within Hotel Roissy. It tended that the hotel room was quite well and did not cause any interference which the TEF6686 performance was great. RDS levels were reached on displaying ‘EUROPE 2’ with its PI Code ‘F219’. ID is heard by 0:39, 0:43, 3:16 and 3:23. It is broadcasting from France’s Lourdes FM Transmitter that houses around 3 kW in transmission power which is approximately 5 kilometres towards Lourdes. 73 😊

AM DX SW 6035 KHz Shiokaze in Japanese From Malta. It was caught on 14/09/2025 at around 22:40 PM (UTC+2). The XHDATA D-808 was placed inside which the reception was a bit weak and not that much audible. According to Short Wave Info, it is no longer transmitting in its schedule as it used to be transmitted. It used to be broadcasting from Japan’s Ibaragi-Koga-Yamata Transmitter that housed around 300 kW in transmission power which is approximately 10,220 kilometres away towards Yamata. 73 😊
