Roderick Schembri - SENr, AHES, MSc, BSc (Hons) -
SENr Applied Sports Nutritionist & Exercise Scientist
Mr. Roderick Schembri is a Sports Nutritionist registered in Malta (No.22293) with the Sports and Exercise Nutritionist Register (SENr), and he holds an MSc in Applied Sports & Exercise and a BSc (Hons) in Sports Science & Active Lifestyles. In addition, Mr.
Schembri desired a deeper understanding of the relationship between nutrition, health, and disease, so he pursued a second MSc in Human Nutrition. He counsels performing athletes and recreationally active individuals in-person and online. In addition, he is in his final year of earning a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy.
He has worked with some of Malta's most elite athletes, including football players, Olympic weightlifters, triathletes, physique, bodybuilding and bikini athletes and hundreds of clients from all walks of life by combining optimal nutrition guidance with innovative performance programs. Has often provided sports nutrition seminars to fitness clubs and sports organisations and actively involved in further research in the field.
With a background of more than 12 years of experience in the fitness industry as an ex-football player, a competitive IFBB athlete and academic background, Mr Roderick Schembri's passion and keen interest are to use scientifically based principles to help athletes maximise their performance and the general public with any fitness level to optimise their health, lead a healthier lifestyle and pursue any fitness goals without limitations.

Working with different people with different backgrounds, lifestyles and cultures helped not only improve the scientific side of his profession but also client understanding and coaching skills. Ultimately, Mr Schembri focuses on rebuilding the mentality and bodies of his clients with a holistic approach to training, lifestyle and nutrition.

Meet Cleaven Portelli our podiatrist

MSc (Essex), BSc (Hons), SPod, MPodA

Cleaven graduated from the University of Malta with honours in Podiatry in 2016 and has since been working on a full-time basis with the national health service as part of the multidisciplinary team. Concurrently, he also set up his private practice and regularly attends several pharmacies and private clinics treating patients presenting with a wide range of podiatric issues, ranging from skin and nail problems, diabetic foot issues, sports injuries, and biomechanical problems. In 2020, Cleaven founded 'The Insole Hub' that is a clinic solely dedicated to treating patients presenting with biomechanical and foot posture issues that would benefit from an in-depth assessment of lower limb biomechanics, and treatment with custom insoles. He also holds a Master of Science Degree from the University of Essex.

MHFA, B.Psy (Hons)(Melit), GMBPsS, MPsSI, M.Ger (Melit), M.Psy (Clin)(Melit), PhD Clinical Psychology Candidate (University of Birmingham)

Yaser Teebi is a Clinical Psychology Practitioner specialising in Geriatrics and Gerontology. Yaser is a 3-time graduate from the University of Malta, having obtained a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) degree, a Master of Gerontology and Geriatrics degree, and a Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology degree, all with Merit. Yaser has conducted research across a wide spectrum of issues pertaining to old age, including Depression in the oldest-old (90+), chronic pain, as well as grief and bereavement.

He is currently reading for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in Clinical Psychology and Geriatrics at the University of Birmingham, with his thesis focusing on Awareness in Dementia. He currently works at a Rehabilitation Hospital in Malta.

Yaser has significant experience working in the rehabilitation and sports setting, working with a variety of complex issues and adult age groups, including chronic pain, mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, trauma, loss, grief and bereavement, relationships and cognitive impairment.

Yaser lectures credits on Psychology and Psychiatry of Old Age on various MSc Courses, and has been nominated as an Expert Reviewer for SAGE Publications. He supervises postgraduate research and dissertations. Yaser has also presented at a number of local and international conferences, including the British Psychological Society’s Counseling Division Annual Conference in London, and the Maltese Geriatric Medicine Society Annual Conference in Malta.

Yaser served as the EFPSA representative on the Standing Committee for GeroPsychology within the European Federation of Psychologists’ Association contributing to the development of Geriatric research across Europe. He is a Mental Health First Aider, a Memory Trainer Certified by the European Federation of Older Persons and is trained in Conflict Resolution, having obtained a certificate from the University of California.

Yaser is a Full Member of the Malta Chamber of Psychologists, a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society’s Clinical Division, a Graduate Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland and a Member of the Association for Psychological Science. Yaser currently holds the position of Executive Secretary for Union Matters with the Malta Chamber of Psychologists.
