📢 Therapy Refund Scheme – Update
We’re proud to share how the Therapy Refund Scheme is supporting more families each year:

📍 2023 – €39,530 issued to 203 families (up to €200 tax credit)
📍 2024 – €172,083 issued to 372 families (up to €500 tax credit)
📍 2025 (so far)
▫️ €14,846 issued to 44 families in Q1
▫️ €40,638 will be issued to 94 families in Q2

The scheme continues to ease the financial burden of therapy-related costs for families of disabled children.

Today, the Mental Health Association (MHA), in collaboration with the Directorate of Disability, convened a meeting to discuss the Personal Autonomy Act and the Adult Protection of Vulnerable Persons Act. The focus was on ensuring that persons with disabilities including mental health are supported in exercising their rights while receiving the necessary protections.

Discussion Highlights:
• Promoting supported decision-making frameworks that respect individual autonomy
• Enhancing legal safeguards for vulnerable adults, especially those with psychosocial or cognitive disabilities

The European Accessibility Resource Centre — is hosting a workshop on accessible on 9 September at the European University Cyprus in Nicosia. Organised in collaboration with AAATE, it will explore the role of higher education, vocational training, and assistive technologies in promoting , while identifying challenges and opportunities for policy and practice.
