Sensory Processing Issues

When a child is experiencing sensory overload, it is unlikely that he will continue learning to talk, because their brain is too overwhelmed and children struggle to understand what their communication partner is saying.

When a child is non verbal it is best to attend Occupational Therapy apart from Speech Therapy, to improve the child's sensory issues.

Always consult an Occupational Therapist for proper advice.

Whilst speaking and playing with your young ones, give them a chance to speak.

Sometimes I watch and observe parents talking to their children, they are constantly talking and talking and asking questions such as

What is this? What do we call it ? Ejja you know it, say it !

Allow them to process what's happening and what to say... ..

Sometimes a pause can actually help the child produce the word.
