Spring has a gentle way of reminding us to slow down.

As the days grow longer and the light lingers a little more, it’s an invitation to become more present, to notice the small moments that often pass us by. A shared meal, a quiet walk, laughter at the end of the day.

In my work, I often see how easy it is to get caught up in the rush of everyday life. We move from one responsibility to the next, postponing rest, connection, and care.

Right now, I’m on leave, and I’m grateful for the chance to pause, to truly be with my family, to recharge, and to reconnect with what matters most.

This is a gentle reminder to all of us:
You don’t have to wait for the “perfect time” to take a step back.

Take a day off if you can. Step outside. Breathe deeply. Put the phone down. Be with the people you love, and with yourself ❤️.

Sometimes, the smallest pauses create the deepest sense of wellbeing.

Wishing you a season of presence, renewal, and simple joy 🦋☀️🌻

Have you ever found yourself in an uncomfortable situation where you almost didn’t fully register what was happening around you?

As if you went a little numb. Especially when someone may have been trying to intimidate, belittle, or humiliate you?

It might seem like you were unaware, passive, or weak in that moment. But what if that wasn’t weakness at all?

Our nervous system is constantly scanning for safety. When it senses threat including emotional threat, it can shift us into protective responses such as freeze, shutdown, or dissociation.

In those moments, not fully “taking in” what is happening can actually be a form of self-protection.

It’s the body’s way of reducing the emotional impact of what someone else is trying to put us through.

Sometimes we don’t consciously choose this response. It happens automatically, intelligently, and instinctively.

So even in a moment where you feel vulnerable, exposed, or small, it may be that without even realising it you were protecting yourself.

Your system was working for you, not against you. And that in itself is a form of strength ❤️🤗

​Spiss, fil-mumenti ta’ skiet, titla’ l-mistoqsija: "Għaliex jien? Għaliex din it-tbatija kollha? X'għamilt ħażin?"

​Irrid ngħidlek ħaġa waħda b’ċertezza:
It-tbatija mhux kastig.

​Kultant, ma jirnexxilniex insibu tweġiba għal kollox. U forsi, l-fejqan ma jiġix billi nsibu r-raġuni, imma billi nsibu l-paċi.

​Nistiednek tħares lejn ħajtek b’għajnejn ta’ kompassjoni lejk innifsek:

-Li taċċetta li dak li għaddejt minnu, minkejja li kien iebes, mhux ser tħallih ikissrek.

Hekk kif bdejna sena ġdida, ħafna minna nħossu l-bżonn li nagħmlu riżoluzzjonijiet ġodda biex inkunu “l-aqwa verżjoni” tagħna nfusna. Filwaqt li tajjeb li ninvestu fil-bżonnijiet tagħna, nixtieq infakkrek biex tkun ġentili miegħek innifsek.

- Agħmel pjan realistiku
- Imxi bil-pass tiegħek
- Jekk l-affarijiet ma marrux kif xtaqt, ma jimpurtax erġa’ ibda.

Il-perfezzjoni ma teżistix, aħna umani u nagħmlu l-aħjar li nistgħu b’dak li għandna fil-mument.

Think about the relationships in your life. With a partner, family, or coworker, we're always in a cycle of interaction.

🔄 You do something → they respond → that response affects you again.

These cycles can build us up, creating trust and support. They can also tear us down, causing frustration or hurt.

The powerful part is that we can change the cycle. When you become aware of your own habits, you can choose new ways to respond, shifting the cycle to a better place.

💡 Even small changes—how you listen, how you speak, or how you set a boundary—can make a big difference.

As systemic therapy reminds us: when one part of the system changes, the whole system can transform.
