🏆 Mellieha Home Launches First-Ever Summer Bocci Tournament! 🌞

Last week marked the exciting launch of the first-ever Summer Bocci Tournament hosted by Mellieha Home — bringing together elderly homes for an evening filled with laughter, healthy competition, and new friendships.
The opening games set a wonderful tone for what's to come, as residents enjoyed a beautiful summer atmosphere and showcased great sportsmanship. The tournament will continue throughout July, promising more memorable moments and community spirit.
A heartfelt thank you to all the teams, staff, and supporters who helped kick off this special event!

Il-ġimgħa li għaddiet kienet il-bidu tal-ewwel Turnament tas-Sajf tal-Boċċi organizzat minn Mellieha Home — li ġabar flimkien djar tal-anzjani għal serata sabiħa mimlija daħk, kompetizzjoni b’saħħitha, u ħbiberiji ġodda.
Il-logħbiet tal-ftuħ kienu ta’ ispirazzjoni, b’reżidenti jgawdu l-atmosfera sabiħa tas-sajf u juru spirtu sportiv kbir. It- turnament se jkompli matul Lulju, u qed nistennew aktar mumenti sbieħ u spirtu ta’ komunità.

🙏 This week we were blessed with a special celebration at Mellieha Home!
We held a beautiful mass led by Patri Dionysius Mintoff, which was a deeply spiritual occasion cherished by our residents. 💖
Patri Mintoff’s ongoing work with those in need is truly inspiring and deserves recognition. 🌟
A huge well done to our amazing activity coordinators for organising this meaningful event and making it so special for everyone involved. 👏👏

🌸 Happy Nurses Day to all our wonderful nurses! 🌸

This past week has been full of joy and gratitude as we celebrated the amazing team of nurses at Mellieha Home. From engaging lectures and mini workshops to fun team-building activities and delightful treats, it’s been a heartfelt tribute to the compassion and dedication our nurses show every day.

A special thank you to Active Ageing and Community Care for the beautiful and sentimental memento, the Council for Nurses and Midwives for their thoughtful gift, and our own Mellieha Home Nursing Management for putting together such a wholesome and inspiring programme. 💙

To our nurses — thank you for your care, strength, and endless commitment. You truly are the heart of our home! 🩺🌟

🌸 Intergenerational Mother’s Day Celebration 🌸
As part of our ongoing Intergenerational Programme, we were thrilled to host a special Mother’s Day activity at Mellieħa Home!
Throughout the week, children from MRC Marija Bambina - Mellieħa Primary School visited our home on several occasions. Together with our residents, they prepared sweet treats and created beautiful crafts as heartfelt surprises for their mothers. 💕✂️🍪
Last Friday, during a special gathering, both children and residents came together to celebrate Mother’s Day in a truly touching intergenerational event. The children proudly presented what they had prepared alongside our residents to their mums — a moment filled with love, pride, and a few joyful tears. 🥹❤️

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated staff at Maria Bambina Primary School, Mellieħa for making this collaboration so meaningful.

Bħala parti mill-Programm Interġenerazzjonali, kellna l-pjaċir nwettqu attività speċjali f’okkażjoni tal-Jum l-Omm fil-Mellieħa Home.
Matul din il-ġimgħa, it-tfal mill-Iskola Primarja Maria Bambina żaru d-dar tagħna diversi drabi. Flimkien mar-residenti, ħejjew ħelu żgħir u għamlu ‘crafts’ sbieħ bħala sorpriża għall-ommijiet tagħhom. 💕✂️🍪

Mother’s Day Celebration ☕🌸

To celebrate Mother’s Day, our activities team organised a lovely coffee morning for our residents — where a lot of tombola was played, which is always a big hit!
We enjoyed delicious pastizzi, homemade pudding, and listened to traditional Maltese songs that brought back fond memories.
We were also pleased to distribute thoughtful gifts from the Welfare Service — with heartfelt thanks to the Active Ageing and Community Care for their support.

Wishing a very Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful residents and dedicated employees. 💐

Bil-frawli friski ta’ Malta, għamilna frawli masur, jelly tal-frawli, u l-pasti r-roża tant mahbubin minna l-Maltin. 🧁🍓

In the month of April, we also celebrated the Strawberry Festival! 🍓🎉
Using fresh Maltese strawberries, we made strawberry mousse, strawberry jelly, and the beloved pasti roza. 🧁🍓
