CareMalta

CareMalta Market leaders in providing quality services for older persons since 1993.

CareMalta was the first private company in Malta to invest in developing a privately owned, purposely built facility for the older persons, in Mosta in 1993, Casa Arkati, and then later in Rabat in 1996 with Villa Messina

CareMalta was also the first private company to closely collaborate with Government in developing Malta's first Public Private Partnership (PPP) in older persons care at Zejtun in 1994, followed by Bormla (1999), Mellieha (2008) and Zammit Clapp (2012). With the Mellieha Home, CareMalta managed to win the largest every PPP contract yet awarded for a 30-year concession period to fund, build and facility manage this new 'state of the art' home. The Group also operates Casa Marija in Sliema, Roseville in Attard (2010) and Casa San Paolo in Bugibba (2015).

What do we really mean by persons’ safety?

In this clip, Prof. Sandra Buttigieg, Head of the Health Systems Management and Leadership Department at the University of Malta, explains that persons’ safety goes beyond direct care. Prof. Buttigieg further explains how evidence-based practices can help address the safety challenges faced in long-term care and how persons’ safety requires a holistic approach, where continuous professional development plays a central role in safeguarding the wellbeing of our residents and service users.

This is part of the philosophy that CareMalta Group is embracing across all its facilities.

Today, we proudly celebrate our 32nd Anniversary! 🎉

The vision of CareMalta Group to build something with a social purpose was materialized on the 1st of August 1993, into the first home for elderly care, Casa Arkati, in Mosta. Through Casa Arkati, CareMalta created an innovative model of care and set the standard in this sector.

Casa Arkati and its concept have always been based upon the philosophy of quality, safety, integrity, development, and dignity, which are the core values that shaped CareMalta Group.

For the past 32 years, we have been dedicated to providing exceptional care services throughout all our facilities and setting new standards that make us the Leaders in Care.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey.

Mgr. Prof. Emmanuel Agius, Former Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Professor of Christian and Philosophical Ethics at the University of Malta, explains that the values guiding elderly care facilities needed to be consolidated through the Ethical Guidelines for Elderly Care, recently published by the Archdiocese of Malta.

Mgr. Prof. Agius explains how these guidelines aim to ensure that not only the management of the facilities but also staff and residents understand the ethos of these facilities, with dignity as the central value. He also mentions how residents have a set of rights that must be upheld to guarantee that their dignity is respected in the care they receive.

In this video clip, Rev. Prof. Raymond Zammit, Head of the Department of Moral Theology at the University of Malta, explains how the Ethics Committee set up by CareMalta Group will continue to strengthen ethics as a culture that puts the service user at the centre.

Rev. Prof. Zammit explains how the Committee is helping CareMalta give more importance to each client's personal story, especially when it comes to medical care, and goes beyond. He also mentions how people are not just medical cases; we have emotions, hopes, and dreams, and these deserve to be respected as well.
