This month, we’ll be looking back at the incredible work carried out by our Standing Committees over the past term. Starting with SCOPH and SCOPET’s World Obesity Day event held in Valletta. ✨️

Organised in collaboration with LERSM and Jamesco, the event was a great success! Health checks were offered to the public, children took part in interactive activities promoting healthy eating, and several surgeons and healthcare professionals provided live consultations throughout the day. 🩺

A big well done to everyone involved in making this event possible! 👏

Il-Jum Dinji Bipolari jfakkarna li d-disturb bipolari huwa iktar minn dijanjosi – hija esperjenza reali li jistħoqqilha fehim, dinjità u appoġġ.

Id-disturb bipolari jaffettwa miljuni ta’ nies madwar id-dinja u ta’ sikwit ma jkunx mifhum, bl-istigma tibqa’ waħda mill-akbar ostakli biex wieħed ifittex l-għajnuna. Permezz ta’ għarfien, edukazzjoni u konversazzjonijiet miftuħin, nistgħu nisfidaw il-kunċetti żbaljati u nippromwovu l-empatija lejn dawk li jgħixu bid-disturb bipolari.

F’Malta, il-promozzjoni tas-saħħa mentali tkompli permezz ta’ inizjattivi lokali, servizzi ta’ appoġġ, u sforzi fil-komunità li jħeġġu lin-nies ifittxu l-għajnuna mingħajr biża’ ta’ ġudizzju.

Ejjew nkomplu nibnu spazji fejn is-saħħa mentali tiġi diskussa b'mod miftuħ, b'rispett, u mingħajr stigma. 🧠💚
---------------------------
World Bipolar Day reminds us that bipolar disorder is more than a diagnosis — it is a lived experience that deserves understanding, dignity, and support.

Bipolar disorder affects millions of people worldwide and is often misunderstood, with stigma remaining one of the greatest barriers to seeking help. Through awareness, education, and open conversations, we can challenge misconceptions and promote empathy toward those living with bipolar disorder.

In Malta, mental health advocacy continues through local initiatives, support services, and community efforts that encourage people to seek help without fear of judgment.

Let us continue building spaces where mental health is spoken about openly, respectfully, and without stigma. 🧠💚

SCORA X-CHANGE MALTA 2026 ❤️

Dear SCORAngels around the world,

Are you ready to spend three unforgettable weeks in the heart of the Mediterranean? This summer, we invite you to join us in Malta for the SCORA X-Change Malta 2026, an experience that brings together learning, cultural exchange, and a shared passion for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

Our programme is designed to create a dynamic space where participants from different countries can learn from one another while exploring key topics within sexual and reproductive health. Through interactive workshops, discussions, and hands-on experiences, you will have the opportunity to engage with professionals, volunteers, and organisations working in the field.

During these three weeks, participants will explore themes such as sexual health education, fertility and reproductive medicine, obstetric and maternal health, STI awareness and prevention, gender-based violence, and issues affecting the LGBTIQ+ community. Sessions will be delivered through a variety of approaches including medical perspectives, advocacy, community work, and creative expression.

Alongside the academic programme, we have prepared a vibrant social schedule so you can fully experience the Maltese summer. Expect sunny days by the sea, visits to historic towns rich in culture, beautiful coastal landscapes, and evenings filled with great food and even better company. From wandering through charming streets lined with colourful balconies to tasting local favourites like pastizzi, Malta promises an experience you won’t forget. 🌞🏖

Programme details:

🗓 Dates: 10th – 31st August
📍 Location: Msida, Malta
👥 Available spots: 15 participants
💰 Participation fee: €480 (includes accommodation, and one meal per day)
