At AromaHub we have an outreach yearly programme. A yearly visit to Spero is a must ❤️

Eight years ago, I stepped into Spero for the first time. Spero is a training and activity centre for people who are visually impaired. I thought I was going there to give.

Instead, I received.

This week it was time for our yearly visit. A morning filled with oils, gentle hand massages, and meaningful conversations. In a space where sight is not the centre of connection, touch becomes language. Presence becomes everything.

Spero is a place where independence is nurtured, skills are developed, and community truly matters. It is a space held together by dedicated carers and extraordinary individuals who navigate life with resilience, honesty and grace.

As I massaged hands, stories unfolded. We spoke about everyday life, about limitations but even more about possibility. About humour. About strength. About what it means to truly listen.

Yesterday reminded me that vision is not about what we see with our eyes, but about how we choose to connect, to understand, and to care.

Grateful for the trust.
Grateful for the lessons.
