Happy Easter from all of us at Simblija 🌼🐣

We celebrated Easter together with our residents in a warm and joyful atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful decorations and great company. The day was filled with fun riddles and activities, followed by a lovely sing along with a mix of Maltese, English, French and Italian classics that everyone enjoyed.

Our Head of Care Marija and the entire care team did their best to make Easter a truly special and memorable day for our residents 💛

We enjoyed a lovely morning visit with the students from Maria Regina College, Naxxar at our Simblija senior residence.

The visit started in the chapel, where Fr Julian explained the meaning behind the beautiful artworks and concluded with a short recital on his flute. The morning continued with one of our weekly activities, as residents and students came together to sing classic songs.

The students are currently raising funds for missionary work in Peru and Guatemala by selling handmade goods and cards. Our seniors were happy to support the initiative by contributing to this meaningful cause 💛

We have been enjoying a number of Easter activities with our residents, and this was one of them. A lovely craft session where everyone created handmade Easter cards, choosing their own colours and finishing each piece with a special diamond touch.

With soft music in the background, it was a calm and joyful moment that brought out everyone’s creativity.

Each resident took home their creation, with many choosing to share their cards with their loved ones 💛

💛 A Morning Full of Energy, Laughter & Connection at Simblija 💛

Today we welcomed nursing students from University for a lively intergenerational session, and our residents absolutely loved every moment. These activities bring so much joy, helping our residents feel energised, youthful, and deeply connected. 🌼✨

We began with gentle breathing exercises to set a positive tone, followed by simple warm‑up movements. Then the fun truly began!
🎯 Friendly aiming games
🎨 A colourful parachute that filled the room with laughter
🔵 A noodle‑and‑circle challenge that boosted motor skills and teamwork

💃 Classic songs, singing, and dancing right until the end
The room was filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. It was a heart‑warming morning where generations came together - learning, laughing, and uplifting one another.

Such moments remind us how powerful connection can be. 💛

We celebrated International Women’s Day with a special morning dedicated to the incredible women in our community. 🌸

Our residents enjoyed live entertainment by Matthew Farrugia, creating a joyful atmosphere, while each woman received a small token of appreciation from our team. A simple gesture to celebrate the strength, care and inspiration women bring every day.

✨ Songs on Demand at Simblija ✨

Today, our residents chose the songs closest to their hearts — and we brought each one to life with lyrics so everyone could sing along, understand the meaning, and truly feel the music. 🎶💛

After every song, we opened the floor for anyone wishing to share a happy memory, a bittersweet moment, or simply what the music meant to them. Emotions flowed… and so did the friendships. ❤️

A beautiful reminder that music connects us, comforts us, and brings us closer together. 🌼
