💬 Mini Author Q&A: The Heart Behind the Series

Q: What inspired you to write The Courage to Speak and The Courage to Say Goodbye?
A: I’ve worked closely with children navigating big emotions, grief, anxiety, courage, and healing. These books grew out of a desire to offer gentle, honest stories that help children feel seen, supported, and understood.

Q: Why did you choose Avery and Ellis as your characters?
A: Avery and Ellis reflect different ways children experience and process emotions. Avery is a quiet strength, supportive, empathetic, and present. Ellis represents the journey of finding confidence and voice, especially when things feel uncertain.

Q: What’s your hope for these books?
A: I hope they open up conversations between children and adults, in classrooms and homes and remind young readers that their feelings are valid, their voices matter, and they’re not alone.
