Child Development Malta

Child Development Malta I can help. The neural foundations must be in place first, and this is my area of speciality in child development. The results are lasting.

If children are struggling in school and are not reaching educational milestones, retained primitive reflexes are likely to be still present which will affect their natural ability to be able to learn with ease, confidence and success. For every child to fully develop physically, emotionally, behaviourally, socially and to be able to learn with ease, joy, adventure and success, the first and most

important step is to make sure their neurological and sensory system is developed sufficiently so they have the resources to be able to learn from parents, teachers, their environment and anyone else supporting their development and education. Children who are struggling and falling behind in education and have been assessed and diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD/ADD or Autism, their brain and sensory system is not developed well enough to have the resources to be able to learn, or cope well easily in life. It is unfair to expect a child to be able to learn if the foundations are not in place. Using simple developmental movements can quickly help improve the connections throughout the brain naturally, and develop their sensory-motor system that is essential to all learning and tasks we must achieve in our lives. Anyone of any age and ability can benefit, not just children. If areas of the brain are poorly connected how can the processing of information coming in through the visual, auditory, tactile, motor and vestibular senses take place? How can a teacher or parent expect a child to be able to learn if their sensory system is immature? All our senses are necessary for learning in different ways. Challenges can be carried into adulthood, and throughout life, if not corrected and it is never too late to improve. The process to develop the neurological foundations is surprisingly easy and requires only a few minutes of natural developmental movements daily for a short period of time to help their sensory system and brain 'catch up'. I see life changing results in all age groups. Trying to teach children when their brain is not developed well enough will only stress an already immature neurological system. This can cause emotional meltdowns, loss of attention, focus and listening, anger, frustration and tiredness seen in many classrooms. It will take valuable time from teaching and be frustrating to both child, teacher and parents. If time was taken to develop the brain and sensory system first, using movement, children will have the resources be able to learn with ease and confidence. It makes sense and will save time and cost when you focus on physical and neurological development first. Children who are falling behind will catch up quickly and their grades will be higher, I guarantee. I run various practical courses that are unique in Malta, and give talks for professionals, teachers, therapists and parents that will help fill a missing gap in understanding the importance of the early year's childhood primitive and postural reflexes toward full development and learning. This knowledge will help anyone working with children who struggle with learning, and those who find it difficult to connect in life. These techniques not only improve the ability to learn but also improve behaviour, social, postural, emotional and mental health issues. The more efficient and stronger the connections are throughout the whole brain, the more able we are to manage everything we do in education, business, sport, relationships, and life in general. Anyone can benefit no matter what age or ability, and best of all, it is completely natural, requires no equipment other than a mat and space on the floor, is inexpensive compared to many developmental programmes and the results are lifelong. The course and techniques will transform any child's ability and improve their skills to be able to succeed in learning, and in life. This will enable children to enjoy the learning process and to achieve higher end of year grades that will open up opportunities for more choices of careers. I am an International Rhythmic Movement Training Instructor and a Brain Gym Instructor, trained to the highest level in these two movement based programmes. I look forward to being able to share my knowledge and experience with anyone interested in making further improvements with children, and adults, including your own abilities. If your child has been diagnosed with having Dyslexia, or has challenges with learning, they are sure to have retained Primitive reflexes. Inhibiting any reflexes still present in the body can have profound and positive effects in how your child will be able to learn easily. It's a simple process using a few minutes of developmental movements for a few weeks to help build and strengthen connections throughout the brain and sensory system. When the connections made, learning becomes easier and enjoyable and opens up opportunities, and choices, for a more successful future.

People with dyslexia often have motor coordination problems. They are clumsy and have poor posture. Many did not crawl and either walked very early or scooted around on their bottoms for extended periods of time. Crawling is important for infants. It helps the corpus callosum (the pathways between the brain hemispheres) to myelinate; is an important step in helping to understand left and right; essential for the development of binocular vision and accommodation (near/far vision).

If you are reading this, or following me on Facebook, and know parents and schools who have children that are struggling as they go up into another year group, and the learning becomes a little harder, please pass them my website so they know there is further help available, and in a fun way using movement. Children love to move, movement is 'food' to the brain, so give them movements that develop their sensory system at the same time, and with immediate results..

No child needs to struggle to the point of hating going to school. If they are struggling, it is because their brain and sensory system is not developed sufficiently for processing information. This can be for several reasons, but the important thing to know is that no matter how old a child is, the neural connections can always be made, or made stronger, using simple developmental movements.

Learning should be fun, an adventure and an enjoyable experience, but for some it isn't. These are the children that need further neural development to enjoy and achieve in the educational experience. This is my area of expertise, and I love seeing the changes in children, and adults, who were struggling and are now succeeding with ease. Isn't that what every parent, and teacher, wants for their child?

The number of people who have liked and become followers of my page has increased dramatically over the past months. I am delighted that so many are interested in my particular area of work, that is unique in Malta, that helps children, of all ages, have the ability to learn with ease and confidence.

Clearing retained childhood primitive reflexes creates the foundations to being able to learn with success.

This can be achieved simply, and naturally, using developmental movements every child should learn to make during their Early Years. The improvements are amazing, and lasting.

This is the work I do as a Rhythmic Movement Training Instructor, to help children overcome developmental issues and challenges with learning. Using simple Rhythmic Movements helps integrate the each of the Primitive and Postural reflexes that develop the neurological foundations of the brain and central nervous system.

It's a simple movement based programme that takes about 10 - 15 minutes each day for about 3 weeks when working with any retained reflex. The improvements in the ability to learn and succeed in tasks that proved to be challenging before are profound, and lifelong, for any age. The earlier the reflexes are integrated, the easier learning and life skills become.

👶🏼 When doing Rhythmic Movements, we stimulate the senses that are essential for building postural control.

Primitive reflexes build the neural foundations of every baby's central nervous system. Movement is key for this to happen well and sufficiently. As each sense is stimulated and develops, so the connections are made stronger and more efficient and prepares the child ready for learning.

If learning, behaviour, emotions, social and/or physical development is poor, look for retained reflexes in the child, or adult, as they can be tested for, or noticed, easily. Once found, simple developmental movements for 10 minutes a day can be used to inhibit each reflex for a short time, and there is usually a dramatic and positive life long change in the child's ability.

It's the most natural way to help children who are struggling in any area of development. Retained reflexes are usually the root cause in under achievers, whether children or adults.

Primitive reflexes develop important skills for head control, muscle tone, sensory integration, and more - but without the chance to integrate naturally, conditions like ADD/ADHD and autism can result. Make sure your child's development is on the right track and learn more about how rhythmic movements can help complete primitive reflex patterns!

This is another great article about the importance of touch and a child's development on a physical, emotional and academic level.

Touch can mean and do so much to our understanding and development. Some children, and adults, miss out on touch and how this an have a negative affect on how we manage in life.

Some people crave touch, some dislike being touched. This can depend on how well integrated our primitive reflexes are, and how well our brain is connected to process the sensory information. With some people touch can soothe, calm and relax while other's it can over stimulate and trigger the Fear Paralysis (freeze) reflex or the Moro (fight or flight) reflex. Some children need to touch and fiddle with something to be able to concentrate and stay attentive.

I specialise in the reflexes and development and help children, and adults, become more integrated to be able to manage and improve their daily lives, especially children in their educational environment so they have the best opportunity to achieve their highest potential in learning.

Enjoy reading the article.

Another example of the importance of movement to development of motor skills and vision.

I was trained by the late Dr Harald Blomberg, a Swedish psychiatrist, and Moira Dempsey, who continues his great work in the most simple way to integrate the primitive reflexes as nature intended for every child.

The interrelationship between the reflexes and motor ability is fundamental for the development of vision.

This is very well put. Every child is different in how they develop and learn, and every parent is different in how they help their child develop. When parents understand what and how development takes place, they will know what to do to help the process rather than hinder and affect their child's development.

The development and integration of the primitive reflexes and sensory system depends on how a baby and infant has the freedom to learn to move, particularly in the first year after birth. Without the freedom to move, the sensory system does not develop sufficiently, leaving the brain and senses immature that can be the root cause of learning and developmental challenges.

It is never too late to improve sensory development and the integration of the reflexes that can improve learning and the skills we need in life. The Rhythmic Movement Training programme offers the understanding and moves necessary to improve every child's ability to be the best they can.

This is my area of understanding and expertise to help development to be the best we can be. This movement programme can help anyone, no matter what age or ability, and is unique in Malta.

It is so hard for parents to limit the time their children play on these electronic devices as they are so obsessed. So easy to give them to keep them occupied, but at what cost to their health and development!

Play games, talk, interact, read stories, make up stories, draw/paint, take your children to a park to run around, play football, climb, swing, go swimming, go for walks, anything but just give them these devices. Their future is in your hands.

These reflexes are commonly seen in children with learning challenges and poor posture.

Although the learning challenges will be noticed by teachers in classrooms, testing children for each of them is easy to do. Using developmental movements to inhibit any reflex requires only 10 - 15 minutes of specific movements a day related to the reflex, and for about 3 weeks. As the movements become easier and exact with practice, so the challenges and difficulties children, and adults, have will ease away, helping to make learning easier, more enjoyable, building confidence and improves posture and stability both physically and emotionally.

Retained reflexes much past 5 years old can hold a child back from developing physically, emotionally, socially and being able to learn with ease, enjoyment and being able to reach their highest potential.

This is the area of my work that is unique in Malta. www.childdevelopmentmalta.com

The reflexes that play a big role in developing postural stability and balance and establishing the foundations for attention and comprehension are: Tonic Labyrinthine (TLR), Asymmetrical Tonic Neck (ATNR), Landau, Spinal Galant and Symmetrical Tonic Neck (STNR) reflexes.

My Story

To see children change from saying ‘I can’t do it’ to ‘ Now I can’ is the most exciting area of my work. To know I have helped make a significant difference to their ability to learn that enables them to have more choice and opportunities later in life, is the very best reward for me.

I am a specialist in learning and neurodevelopment. I am trained to the highest level in two movement based programmes to be able to help develop the brain and senses in children so they have the resources to be able to learn with ease, confidence and success. My goal is to make a significant difference to children who are struggling or failing in education in Malta.

I have experienced huge changes in myself and my abilities over the past 15 years. I have experienced the power of developmental movements and how simple they are to bring about profound change in learning and in the skills we need in life, whether you are in education, business, sport or the performing arts.

Not only have I experienced personal change, I have seen such amazing changes in young children, teenagers, adults and the elderly who have come to me for help. Changes that have improved not only their ability to learn to read and write, but their coordination and movement, there ability to be able to engage, feel connected and be able to participate in the world around them. The power of simple developmental movements to most people are under-estimated and couldn’t possibly make such change. I can absolutely assure you, and guarantee you, they do and is why I do what I do.
