It is widely practised throughout the UK and the rest of Europe. An estimated 30,000 patients see an Osteopath in the UK every day (source: General Osteopathic Council website http://www.osteopathy.org.uk/)

Osteopathy may be helpful with disorders of the musculoskeletal system such as neck pain and back pain, chronic repetitive strain injuries, certain sports injuries, sciatic pain and many others. Osteopathy is a holistic system where it takes into consideration all aspects of the person's health. A thorough history is taken on first assessment and a plan of treatment is discussed with the patient. Treatment may include joint manipulation, soft tissue mobilisation and stretching and myofascial release techniques. An Osteopath typically trains at graduate level for a minimum of 4 years and is highly trained in differential diagnosis, meaning that it is safe to visit an Osteopath without a Doctor's referral. Keeping your GP updated about your health is however always recommended. Osteopaths and Physiotherapists are registered with the Council for Professions Complementary to Medicine (CPCM). The clinic mourns the loss of our Clinic Founder and Osteopath Robert Grech's father, Laurence Grech.

Robert's dedication to his patients, attention to detail and success in his clinic mirror much of what he learnt from his father, through his support, sound principles, encouragement and mentorship.

There are no words to describe the terrible loss, but we can find solace in the knowledge that part of Laurence Grech's legacy remains present in Robert's life and work. Robert's dedication to his patients and colleagues also mirrors his Dad's passion to help others. A special dedication goes to Robert's mum, Lilian Grech who stood by her husband's side until the end. She is Robert's biggest fan and supporter and this clinic would not have existed without her.

Rest in Peace, Pa.

When it’s cold, we naturally shrug our shoulders and curl forward to conserve heat❄️
➡️ Prolonged hunching overloads the neck, stiffens the upper spine, and can trigger headaches or shoulder pain.
👉 Keep shoulders relaxed & chin gently back.

Unilateral (one sided) buttock pain is a common complaint we deal with. Often confused with ‘sciatica’ because it may present as one sided lower back pain which radiates down into the buttock and sometimes thigh. The difference is that there are no neurological symptoms, and pain often remains localised pain in the buttock and hip, not beyond the knee. The gluteus medius muscle is often the main issue.
frequently encounter this problem and it may arise from biomechanical issues, pelvic torsion and poor running technique. A combination of manual therapy, dry needling and graded exercises can often help manage similar conditions.

🧦Cold reduces circulation → ankles stiffen → knees & hips compensate.
👉 Warm feet = smoother movement up the body.

‘Pelvic tilt’ is a concept that many clinicians attempt to explain and highlight to patients. Targeted exercises are often given as part of ‘core’ rehabilitation. Here, we explain the reasons in a bit more detail and offer some tips, especially when exercising.

Iliotibial Band (ITB) Friction Syndrome is characterized by pain on the outside of the knee. It is a condition we frequently encounter in clinic and can be managed by accurate assessment of biomechanics, along with manual therapy and targeted exercise therapy.

Clenching your jaw overloads muscles that connect into your neck & shoulders😬
➡️ Result: tight neck, stiff shoulders, or unexplained pain.
Take a minute to unclench your teeth, drop your tongue, & breathe🧘
