Ms Cynthia-Michelle Borg Upper GI and Bariatric Consultant Surgeon

We are pleased to welcome Ms Cynthia-Michelle Borg to our ever growing list of specialists visiting our clinics.

Ms Borg is a senior surgical consultant with over 20 years of experience in general surgery, specializing in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery.

She obtained her Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Malta in 1997 and completed her specialist surgical training in the UK, including a research doctorate at King’s College Hospital and Imperial College. Ms Borg's training culminated in a Consultant Surgeon position in London for over 12 years before returning to Malta in 2025.

Ms Borg offers personalized weight management solutions including medical therapy, endoscopic treatments like gastric balloons, and bariatric surgery such as gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and revisional procedures. Her clinical interests also include minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, particularly for gallstone disease and gastro-oesophageal reflux.

We are proud to announce the opening of Ablesense Clinic, a dedicated pediatric occupational therapy clinic within Abela's Pharmacy. Starting July 1st, Ablesense will be offering a Handwriting Readiness Group Program aimed at helping kinder 1 and kinder 2 children develop the foundational skills needed for successful handwriting through fun, engaging activities that strengthen motor skills, eye-hand coordination and pencil grip, to name just a few!
