Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 4pm to 6.30pm at Mediatrix clinic Zabbar - Wednesday Dr Pamela Gauci 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Saturday 10am to noon at Mediatrix clinic Zabbar.

No appointment is required.

Blood tests on Saturday morning by appointment.

Vulnerable groups:

Vulnerable groups are at higher risk of severe disease must stay at home &
cannot go to work: ✔Elderly over 65 years ✔Insulin dependent diabetics ✔Taking Biologicals
(medicines for long-term medical conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, Crohns disease, Psoriasis,
ankylosing spondylitis) ✔Patients with cancer and who have undergone chemotherapy in the last 6
months ✔Patients who are immunosuppressed including those who had a transplant and those
with HIV ✔Patients undergoing dialysis ✔Pregnant women ✔Patients with Respiratory problems
(have been hospitalized in the last 1 year) ✔Patients with Cardiac problems and had interventions
in the last 6 months ✔Patients who attend the Heart failure clinic ✔Patients on Oral steroids
These persons are allowed to go out ONLY for essential things like to get groceries and medicine.
Outings and contact should be limited as much as possible. –

Persons who fall under the above categories who have not received a letter should send an email to

In the interest of health and safety, I will be taking the following measures during this time:

A Clinic will be held for non-respiratory complaints Monday to Friday 5-7pm at Mediatrix Zabbar.

Anyone wishing to be seen must make an appointment with me beforehand by calling me in the morning.

Consultations must not exceed 10 minutes. This is to minimize contact time so as to reduce the risk of transmission in the case of potential infection with Coronavirus.

Appointments will be spaced 15 minutes apart to allow for clinic disinfection after each patient and no patient contact in waiting area.

Telephone consultations are also preferred when possible. This can be done safely and within reason, so do not hesitate to contact me. This will be performed Monday to Saturday 8-11.30am.

For those with respiratory symptoms or fever it is very important that you do not attend clinic. Call me and we will discuss a management plan.

If more than 1 family member needs to be seen kindly inform me so I can allocate enough time for the next patient.

Some sick leave certificates, repeat prescriptions and other paperwork can be arranged over the phone as well for the time being.

I hope you understand that I am taking these measures because as a private family doctor the clinic is not equipped to deal with highly infective cases like this coronavirus. If clinics were to carry on as before and there is a carrier in the waiting area which tests positive, the whole pharmacy and staff would have to be quarantined, pharmacy disinfected, and all the people in the waiting area quarantined. Understand that these measures must be taken for your own safety. I am still available for all your needs, we just need to improve the system!

Dr Robert Gauci 79652471 and Dr Pamela Gauci 79730300 are offering telephone consultations for family doctor advice Monday to Friday 8.00-12.00 and 16.00-19.00 daily for the time being.

This will help reduce the transmission of Covid-19.
