Once again, this summer, I will be dancing at the Summer Long Dance -a 72 hour Movement Medicine ceremony where we gather in deep community to dance, sing, heal and pray together for all our relationships. The Long Dance is also a fundraiser for a number of charitable projects.

This year I am raising funds for Rise: a US and Lesotho registered non-profit organisation that focuses on economic development through job creation, skills development and entrepreneurship. Rise links aspiring local African entrepreneurs with essential resources needed in order for them to transform from job seekers to job creators.

I have witnessed the impact of their amazing work. If you wish to learn more about this NGO, you can follow this link.

Movement Medicine Malta

Movement is Medicine.

Movement Medicine is a movement meditation practice for our times-designed to connect us with the life force inherent in the dance. We dance to re-connect with ourselves and with nature; to grow; to become more present; to heal; to develop resilience; to strengthen our capacity for meaningful relationships. We dance to wake up to what matters to us, to discover

our life’s purpose, to dream; to find the empowerment and support to realise our dreams and to make our unique contribution to the world. The practice is grounded in gestalt psychotherapy, family constellations, neuroscience, 5 rhythms and shamanic wisdom. It was founded by Ya’acov and Susannah Darling Khan in the UK and is now practiced worldwide.

Movement Medicine Malta aims to bring this practice to Malta and to continue to build the local Movement Medicine Community-so that the teachings and practice become accessible to all who may benefit. Classes and workshops in Malta are led by a dance therapist and psychotherapist who is also a Movement Medicine Teacher in training, as well as by foreign teachers are invited to offer their their Movement Medicine workshops in Malta on a regular basis. The community includes number of dedicated dancers who have been learning this practice for some time, as well as participants who continue to join the drop-in classes or ongoing workshops.
