You can now enjoy your farata, bread, roti, dholl puri guilt free as they have been made by Fortified flour that has been in the market since the past years at very affordable price. Most bakeries all over the island also use this flour.
The STC fortified flour is fortified with iron, zinc, folic acid, and vitamins B9 and B12, aiming to combat iron deficiency and improve overall health, particularly for women and children.
This laudable initiative by the STC has been a breakthrough in our attempt to reduce neural tube defects and anemia rates especially among women and young girls as well as enhanced overall health of the population.
Tips:
1) Choose wholemeal flour ( farine du ble) over white flour (farine blanc)
2)To further increase vitamins and minerals content of your home made farata consider adding sesame seeds, grain de lin, oats, dried moringa leaves, chopped spinach and other herbs in the dough.
