Understanding Diabetes: Type 1 vs Type 2

Diabetes affects how your body handles sugar (glucose) in your blood but not all diabetes is the same.

Type 1: Usually starts in childhood. The pancreas can’t make insulin, so people need daily insulin injections.

Type 2: Usually develops in adulthood. The body doesn't use insulin properly (insulin resistance) and it doesn't make enough insulin. It is manageable with healthy lifestyle choices, medication or insulin if needed.

Both types require awareness, monitoring, and care. Knowing the difference can help you take control of your health and prevent complications.
