Pravesh Dabedeen has dedicated his life to helping people heal not just through therapy, but through understanding, compassion, and community support.

He knows that too often, individuals delay seeking help for mental health challenges due to fear, stigma, or lack of awareness and by the time they do, the struggle becomes much harder to manage. His message is simple yet powerful: seeking help early can change and even save lives.

That’s why he continues to use his voice to raise awareness, fight stigma, and remind the public that no one is ever alone in their journey. For him, mental health care is not only about treatment it’s about trust, empathy, and hope.

World Mental Health Day 2025
A Missed Opportunity for Awareness Reduce Stigma.

On behalf of Lifecare, we wish to express our deep disappointment with the lack of meaningful coverage and engagement from the press and media during this year’s World Mental Health Day.

Despite mental health being one of the greatest challenges of our time, very little was done to raise public awareness or to open real conversations on the issue. It is painful to see how many young people and their families continue to struggle in silence, trying to cope with depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions often without proper understanding or support.

At Lifecare, we see these struggles every day. Mental health is not a one day topic, it’s a daily reality for thousands of individuals in Mauritius. We urge the media, schools, workplaces, and leaders to give this issue the attention and respect it deserves.

Let’s work together to create a society where people can speak openly, seek help without fear, and receive the compassion and care they need.

Lifecare Home highlights support available this World Mental Health Day

Lifecare is marking this year’s World Mental Health Day by reminding people that support is available if you or someone you know is experiencing mental health problems.

To mark World Mental Health Day, Lifecare will also be hosting a number of activities for colleagues as part of its Life Together initiative. These include wellbeing walks, meditation sessions and providing support and information on ways to look after your mental health.
