Provide specialised dietary interventions at a private hospital, with a focus on cancer patients Lavanya has more than 12 yearsโ€™ experience in Dietetics and Nutrition. Holder of a BSc in Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition, she notably served as Head of the Dietetics Department at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital (now Wellkin Hospital), the largest private hospital in Mauritius. In the first half of 2019, she intervened as Dietitian in the 10th Edition of Indian Ocean Island Games, conducting counselling, meal planning and follow-ups for circa 300 Mauritian athletes over a period of 3 months. Since 2012, she has been accompanying both individuals and organisations with a view to promoting balanced and healthy food habits and enabling sustainable nutritional changes among the Mauritian population. Our first Women's Well-being Circle was on PCOS, a hormonal condition affecting many women and even young girls as they reach puberty.

The intent of such circles is to group women and allow them to share their journey, their experience and also to assist them in their health and wellbeing.

At times, talking and sharing could be sufficient to heal ourselves.

Stay tuned, we will be conducting many more such circles.

Peri- menopause and menopause can be a difficult phase for many women due to the sudden body changes and symptoms.
Hot flushes, sudden weight gain, increase in abdominal fat, irregular me**es, thinning of hair, changes in skin texture and pigmentation... unfortunately all these are part of menopause.

Your food habits and an adapted diet can however really make a difference and allow women navigate through this phase with a lot more ease.

Last Sunday I had the privilege to share some insights about the importance of an adapted diet among these lovely women. The talk was organised by menowise.

Our Story

Lavanya has more than 11 yearsโ€™ experience in Nutrition & Dietetics and 6 years โ€˜ experience in a hospital set up. She has been part of a multi-disciplinary team to attend ICU patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition. She notably served as Head of the Dietetics Department at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital (now Wellkin Hospital), the largest private hospital in Mauritius. She holds a BSc in Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition.

In the first half of 2019, she intervened as Dietitian in the 10th Edition of the Indian Ocean Island Games, conducting counselling, meal planning and follow-ups for around 300 Mauritian athletes over a period of 3 months.

Since 2012, she has been collaborating with organisations such as MCB Forward Foundation, SOS Childrenโ€™s Villages and Global Rainbow Foundation with a view to promoting balanced and healthy food habits and enabling sustainable nutritional changes among her target audiences.
