🦟 Mosquito-borne outbreaks disrupt worksites too

Dengue cases surged nearly ninefold by Dec 2023 – more than 270 000 cases and 753 deaths across 18 African Union countries.

Both Dengue and Chikungunya can cause severe fatigue, joint pain and complications that keep staff off duty for days—or weeks.

Protect your site:
✔️ Remove standing water near camp or work zones
✔️ Insecticide-treated netting & site fogging
✔️ Staff education on early symptoms
✔️ On-site triage & outbreak escalation planning

⚠️ Workforce health planning means thinking ahead of the outbreak. Is your site ready?

Response-Med was pleased to participate in the 2nd East African Symposium & EMS Expo on Trauma, Injuries and Emergency Care, held at Makerere University School of Public Health in Kampala on 7–8 August 2025.

Our Medical Operations Director, Dr. Daniel Akech, contributed to a panel discussion exploring opportunities in oil and gas from a pre-hospital and remote medicine perspective, alongside medical leads from TotalEnergies, City Ambulance, and the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).

It was a pleasure to connect with key stakeholders from across East Africa, fostering dialogue on improving emergency care preparedness, mitigation, and response to strengthen resilience in both remote and industrial environments.
