🚨 Kenya loses 5,000 mothers yearly. We're fighting back with POCUS

Kenya continues to face high maternal mortality, with 355 deaths for every 100,000 live births. This translates to nearly 5,000 women and girls dying annually from pregnancy and childbirth complications.

In Kenya, postpartum haemorrhage accounts for 40% of maternal deaths, followed by obstructed labor at 28% and eclampsia at 14%.

Scaling up proven solutions such as point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) enables early detection of complications, dramatically improving rural outcomes.

That's why at Response-Med and together with our partners, we piloted a maternal project in 7 healthcare facilities in Lunga Lunga Sub-County where we:�

🏥 donated POCUS devices�
🎓 upskilled midwives on ultrasound use in rural areas - we will be upskilling another 15 in March�
📡 paired the service with teleguidance building capacity where it's needed most.

Madagascar is the second largest island in the world. Having first delivered medical support there in 2018, we continue to assess the changing medical landscape as it is critical to ensure we deliver informed, fast, efficient and seamless medical evacuation and in country support

🚀 Proud to power LTWP's health wins—CEO site visit recap!

Our CEO & Founder Diana Carson, and our MD Dr. Daniel Akech just visited Lake Turkana Wind Power to conduct site health audits and team catch-ups in Marsabit County.

🔹 LTWP marked a milestone with Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) in 2025, a great achievement as the management team continues to champion a culture of “safety first”.

🔹 Key for us is supporting our Client’s on CSR and community health strengthening initiatives. Response-Med carried out facility audits in South Horr, at a mission clinic and the GOK health centre, noting the impressive contribution that has made to essential diagnostics for the community.

🔹 LTWP’s Winds Of Change have been at the heart of LTWP’s social impact, implementing high quality, community-led projects across Laisamis Constituency, Marsabit County. They delivered over 100 projects of change including the handover of a modern laboratory at the South Horr Government of Kenya Health Centre.
