The mongoose fights with the snake and sometimes gets bitten. It goes back to chew on herbs to flush the poison. As humans, we play with problems and tension and sometimes, they poison us. Our job is to go back to our practice, release the tension and come back to play in the chaos.

What’s the Point of Life if You’re Faking It?

What’s the point of life if you’re faking it?
If every smile is stitched, and every word rehearsed—
If your steps follow a script you never wrote,
And your heart’s rhythm is silenced beneath duty's weight?

What’s the point of breath if it doesn’t stir your soul?
Of mornings, if they don’t hold wonder or warmth?
Of company, if you must hide your truth?
Of dreams, if they’re not your own?

To live… is to bleed honestly.
To love… is to surrender without masks.
To exist… is to feel it all—
Even the ache,
Especially the ache,
Because that’s where meaning is born.

True love doesn’t need proving,
Pure actions don’t need justification,
Genuine intent doesn’t need proof—
And silence…
Can be louder than words.

It's the page's 7th year anniversary. I don't write a lot now but this place still exists.🙏

Relentless drive with the right intent.
Endless obstacles with the right dent.
Makes you doubt and how,
Makes you soft with each blow,
Makes you see what you don't want to,
Makes you discover what you were meant to.

But in the ache, something stirs unseen,
A fire reborn, not loud, but keen.
Where silence speaks and shadows mend,
You lose a piece, but gain a friend.

The friend is truth — unmasked, unkind,
Yet holding space for strength to find.
No titles, no masks, no hollow praise,
Just grit that glows in darkest days.

If we strip ourselves from what we own, what we are perceived as, for example, our job title, role in the family etc, what remains?

This is exactly who we are.

Deep bows,
Suuko.

A silent mind rejoices everything thrown at it.
A silent mind doesn't judge
A silent mind wants to go deep
A silent mind lives in the moment.

Anger comes from not accepting things as they are
Lust comes from wanting things which aren't yours
Ego comes from thinking you're important
Ignorance comes from thinking you know the truth
Fear comes from not understanding life

Deep bows,
Suuko.

You don't try to reject your dark thoughts. You sit with them and see through them. Just as goodness is part of us, anger, greed, lust and anxiety are all part of us. We don't fight these. We accept them and let them go.

The fruit of practice

You start seeing situations with an eye of compassion.
When you stumble, you think about what the moment is teaching you.
You don't want anything. You feel complete.
Your compass is your ethics, in our case, the Buddhist precepts.

Observe

Observe your own feelings and observe the actions of people around you. You learn more by observing rather than interacting with others.

Grow

See all challenges as opportunities for growth. When you get tired, rest and have a go again.

Trust

Learn it's a fragile thing but without it, you won't go far. Trust yourself and the universe for giving you exactly what you need.

Deep bows,
Suuko.
