World Clean-Up Day 2025

More than 150 IBL employees came together on Wednesday 17 September to clean up the Riche Terre Industrial Zone and surrounding areas, collecting plastic bottles, cans, bags and other litter.

Teams from Bloomage, Blychem, BrandActiv, CMH, Logidis, Manser Saxon, ServEquip, IBL Seafood and Somatrans Bolloré Logistics joined forces with employees from neighbouring companies for this large-scale effort. The activity was organised by the Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change with the support of the NECA team.

IBL also helped coordinate the participation of companies across the zone, working closely with Mr. Jayraj Hauroo, Officer in Charge of NECA, to make the day a success.

This initiative is another example of IBL’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement. By acting together, we can make a meaningful difference for our environment and for future generations.

IBL Shipping, together with its longstanding partner Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), recently welcomed the Cattleya Ace to Mauritius — a 200m-long Pure Car Carrier, as tall as a 12-storey building and able to carry up to 6,000 vehicles.

At the event, Dr the Hon Arvin BOOLELL, GOSK, Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries, emphasized the government’s efforts to modernize the port and highlighted the role of private sector partners, citing IBL Group and IBL Shipping as leading examples of strategic investment.

For Yasuo Suzuki, Managing Director of MOL (Mauritius) Ltd, the arrival of the Cattleya Ace represents far more than a maritime operation — it reflects a lasting commitment to Mauritius.

The successful berthing in Port Louis Harbour was the result of a close collaboration between IBL Shipping and its key partners including the Mauritius Port Authority (MPA), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and the Cargo Handling Corporation Ltd (CHCL).

With roots dating back to the 1830s, IBL Shipping continues to provide a full range of maritime and logistics services, supporting port activities that remain at the heart of Mauritius’ economy.

This year, Naivas marks 35 years in Kenya.

From its beginnings as a small family shop in Rongai, Naivas has grown to become Kenya’s largest and most trusted supermarket chain.

IBL Group is proud to have joined this story in July 2022 with our largest investment to date.

Since then, 33 new stores have opened, bringing Naivas even closer to the communities it serves.

Today, the company operates 108 stores, employs over 12,000 people, and serves millions of customers every year.

“From a small family shop to Kenya’s leading retailer, our journey is one of resilience, growth, and pride. This milestone is for our people, whose dedication inspires us, and for our customers, whose loyalty makes it possible. With IBL by our side, we look to the future with confidence — bringing world-class retail experiences closer to every community we serve.” — David Kimani, Naivas Limited Managing Director

Here’s to 35 years of Naivas — and to the future we’re building together.

Music has a special way of bringing people together, across cultures and languages.

IBL recently supported ASSA OI, a regional initiative uniting female artists from Mauritius, Rodrigues, Seychelles, Réunion, and Mozambique - and giving often underrepresented voices a platform.

Over a music residency, workshops with students from the University of Mauritius, and a public concert, the artists worked together, experimenting with sounds and rhythms and creating stunning new music.

A beautiful reminder that despite our differences, we're stronger when we come together, across borders and across communities.

Last week, 15 teams from across the Group took the stage to present their bold ideas to our expert jury during the semi-finals of the IBL Excellence & Innovation Awards.

From these inspiring projects, 9 have been selected for the finals this October — competing across the categories of Business Innovation, Customer Experience, and Operational Excellence.

Since its launch in 2021, the IBL Excellence & Innovation Awards have been a true catalyst within the Group — driving purposeful value creation for our people, partners, customers, and the communities we serve.

Congratulations to the teams from Winner's, Logidis, IBL Energy, BrandActiv, Cervonic, PhoenixBev, Eagle Insurance, and MedActiv Mauritius for making it to the finals!

Two decades ago, Azuri was just an ambitious idea. Today, it’s home to hundreds of families and has become a thriving seaside village.

For IBL, projects like Azuri, developed by our subsidiary real estate company BlueLife, are a way to create something special - a place where families put down roots, where kids play outdoors and where community happens naturally.

In the latest issue of Investors’ Mag, Hugues Lagesse, BlueLife's CEO, shares how Azuri transformed into the smart coastal village it is today - and why it's somewhere people are increasingly choosing to call home.

Everyone deserves a safe and respectful workplace.

As part of a strong commitment to dignity, equity, and inclusion, IBL Group proudly participated in the pioneering Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the Workplace pilot project, led by Business Mauritius and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) – France’s public development agency that supports inclusive and sustainable development – in partnership with Kantar.

The initiative served as a catalyst for meaningful transformation, resulting in a new Equal Opportunity & Anti-Violence Policy, enhanced grievance mechanisms, and greater alignment with our DEI and Great Place To Work strategies.

Anchored in both the Mauritius National Strategy for the Elimination of GBV and the ILO Convention 190, this work reflects an ongoing effort to build a safer, more inclusive, and empowering workplace for all.

Winners Mauritius is now the first supermarket chain in Mauritius to be fully HACCP-certified — raising the bar for quality and food safety nationwide.

“At Winners, food quality is a daily commitment, driven by every member of our team.” – Vimal Gopalsing, Senior Manager, Category & Quality

The result of three years of work, this reflects Winners' positioning in Mauritius and its alignment with IBL's values — combining proximity, operational excellence, and a deep sense of responsibility to the communities we serve.
