32year old male with left back and hip pain radiating to left thigh presented to the clinic
MRI showed stage 2 avascular necrosis of both hips
Avascular necrosis occurs when there is disruption in blood supply to the femur head
usually it happens bilateral and is detected on MRI and xray
Luckily the young gentleman was still in stage 2 of AVN Where we could avoid hip replacement and went for Core decompression and AVN Rod made of tantalum
As shown in the image a very small incision was done and the rod was inserted
patient was mobilized next day and was sent home
