Job Description: Operations Manager – Optical Shop
Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Optics Shop Specworld ( spec eyewear LTD)– Riviere du rempart
Reports to: Managing Director
1. Job Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the optics shop to ensure smooth workflow, exceptional customer service, and compliance with professional optical standards. The role includes staff supervision, inventory control, sales performance monitoring, and coordination with suppliers, optometrists, and technicians.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Store Operations Management
- Ensure smooth daily operations of the shop and optical clinic.
- Maintain cleanliness, display standards, and overall retail environment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and optical industry regulations.
B. Staff Management
- Supervise sales assistants, optical technicians, and administrative staff.
- Monitor staff performance and handle discipline or coaching as required.
C. Customer Service
- Ensure customers receive excellent service at all touchpoints.
- Handle customer complaints, refunds, and escalated service issues.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and communication.
D. Inventory & Stock Control
- Oversee stock levels for frames, lenses, contact lenses, and accessories.
- Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate with suppliers for replenishment.
- Manage stock rotation, expiry monitoring, and loss prevention.
- Ensure competitive product pricing and promotions.
E. Sales & Business Performance
- Monitor daily sales, KPI performance, and service targets.
- Suggest and implement strategies to improve sales and customer retention.
- Assist in marketing activities, promotions, and visual merchandising.
F. Equipment & Technical Oversight
- Ensure optical equipment is maintained and serviced.
- Coordinate repairs and calibration as needed.
- Ensure technicians follow proper lens fitting and edging procedures.
3. Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Retail Management, Optics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in retail operations, preferably in an optical or healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of optical products and lens types (an advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Office and retail management software.
