January: Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️

Cervical cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus that connects to the va**na. In most cases, it develops due to long-term infection with HPV (Human Papillomavirus).

Prevention & Early Care
The HPV vaccination plays a key role in preventing cervical cancer.
In the Maldives, girls are encouraged to receive the vaccine from the age of 15 onwards.

Consult a Gynecologist
Regular check-ups and early consultations can help detect risks early.
You can consult a gynecologist at AIMS Diagnostic Care for guidance, screening, and support related to cervical health.

Did You Know?
In 2022, cervical cancer affected 51 people in the Maldives and resulted in 26 related deaths.

As we welcome the New Year, please take note of our updated schedule for New Year:
- 31st December – Half day (Morning: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
- 1st January – Closed (New Year)
- 2nd January (Friday) – Closed
Normal operations resume from 3rd January onwards from 8:00 to 12:00 and 18:00 to 22:00 everyday except Fridays.
