Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) is the first tertiary hospital developed outside the capital Male' City. AEH, located in Hithadhoo the capital of Addu City, is a 100-bedded hospital with multi sub specialties, advanced radiology services, a fully-equipped laboratory, state of the art operation theaters with capacity tp perform the latest and modern surgical procedures. Moreover, apart from Male’ city, Laparoscopic or “minimally invasive” surgery and endoscopy services are currently only available at AEH. While AEH is the second largest government hospital in Maldives, the hospital provides services nearly 50,000 in the city and also extends the services to nearby atolls in the South region. The development of the 100-bed hospital was funded by Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and OPEC Fund.

A Medical team of Doctors and Nurses from IGMH have arrived in Addu City for the first Spinal surgery that will be done at Addu Equatorial Hospital on 14th April 2020. This will be a great achievement for Addu Equatorial Hospital in such a short period of time.
