🌴 Coconuts can easily be considered the crowning glory of Maldives' food culture.
🥥 We've mastered the art of using every part of the fruit and the tree itself for sustenance and other purposes.
Coconut water aids in blood sugar control, provides energy and hydration and is rich in minerals and vitamins among other numerous health benefits.
Coconut milk is an integral part of our cuisine and coconut oil is just perfect for our skin.
Among the many names we have for the different stages of the coconut, 'Kurumba' is the perfect stage to enjoy it as a nourishing drink.
We can go on and on about the coconut. 😃

This majestic tree is not from Tolkien's Middle Earth, but rises in splendor as the heart centre of Mathiveri island.
This is not just a tree. It's an institition housing several species of birds.
They say, the tree is over 200 years old with a survival story of unwavering resolve. 🌱
