Evidence-Based Findings: Infertility and Cupping Therapy
1. Hijama and Female Infertility (Pilot Study – Saudi Arabia, 2016)
• Abduljabbar et al. conducted a pilot study with 59 women experiencing female-factor infertility.
• Findings: 12 women (20.3%) achieved pregnancy after repeated Hijama sessions. Significant changes were observed in reproductive hormone profiles (FSH, LH, TSH, prolactin) before and after therapy.
2. Case Series of Pregnancy After Wet-Cupping (Alp, 2021)
• In a series of infertile women undergoing conventional treatment plus wet-cupping, several achieved pregnancy during follow-up.
3. Narrative Review on Cupping and Female Reproductive Health (Padmaningtyas et al., 2024)
• Reviewed multiple studies and case reports on cupping therapy for reproductive issues.
• Findings: Cupping therapy was associated with improvements in menstrual disorders, reduction of dysmenorrhea, and enhanced fertility outcomes in some women.
