In 1912, Arthur Frederick Jones embarked on the project of his dreams when he established a tea company in Sri Lanka by the name of A.F. His two sons, Alan and Dennis, soon joined the family business and continued the tea tradition. quickly gained recognition of having the best possible quality of Ceylon (Sri Lankan) Tea. When the family left Ceylon in the early 1960's to return to their native England, The Capital Maharaja Organization Ltd. Jones (Exporters) Ceylon Ltd., as it stands today. The Capital Maharaja Organization Ltd. is one of the largest and most diversified privately owned group of companies in the country. What started as a small family owned tea business in the early 19th century, is today one of the oldest tea companies in Sri Lanka, and has grown to stand as one of the leading exporters of renowned Ceylon Tea to the world.
